£8 plus £2.70 is relatively cheap!
My local chippy is about £10 but you get a BIG fish ( or a couple of smaller ones if no biggies available, no extra charge) and a sackfull of chips. More than enough for two people.

If you find yourself in Exeter or Exmouth these are tops Krispies for quality and value. We had Fish and Chips at Krispies in Exmouth 3 weeks ago at our RM Reunion, very tasty. Our local British Chippie (40 minute drive away) has Cod and Chips with Mushy Peas for $15 which translates to GBP11.56.

Our local does a large (2 pieces of fish) fish supper for £7.90.

Keep them in the paper and enjoy with Cava, Prosecco or Champagne. Uplifts the meal to anther level. Proper vinegar not non brewed condiment vital to !
Also a local chippy run by a lovely Turkish family used to let us take in a bottle if we sat down in the red banquettes section .
Sadly after years of ownership they sold it and returned home.
I wouldn’t eat fish & chips in a new Morgan if I got one -
