But wait… Morgan actually makes good sports cars? Cars that in a competitive head to head might actually be preferable to other brands. You mean to say the company might actually have a plan and know how to make a decent car? I thought Morgan was heading the wrong direction and its days were numbered? Now I’m confused. 🫤

The motoring press have given glowing reports on the six and 4 for the last four years it's the detractors and some who have not even driven one who wont accept a reality check. When I go out in the Mog I have a choice of two cars mostly bumbling about the lanes taking in the vibe or get the paddles out and its a super car. And soon to be a fairly rare collectors item and 40mpg .....

That seems like a wholly appropriate conclusion to draw. These new CX cars can be driven in ways you simply cannot drive the older cars with their older suspension, chassis, and engines- Unless you want to test your theology.

I can’t comment on trads as it must be 30 years since I’ve driven one, but the standard suspension on my ‘22 Plus Four just isn’t in the same league as my other modern performance cars. I’m hearing from everyone in the know that the Nitron upgrade which I’m getting in 10 days will work wonders. Clearly the author thinks the “handling pack” is the bee’s knees. To compare the latest CX with the Lotus Emira is high praise indeed and will be surprising I think to many people with the typical view of Morgan’s as being “old fashioned”.

I'm in the fortunate position to own a CX Plus Four and a First Edition Emira V6 manual - both in green : )

I love the looks of the Lotus and the sound it makes - it gets equally positive reactions from people but when choosing which one to drive, I usually opt for the Morgan. It's not as brutally fast as the Lotus but even with the original suspension(!) is still super fun to drive. The gear change on the Lotus is awful - really notchy - which makes spirited driving a bit of a chore.

Neil. We have a bi polar roof on the Mog its been up and down all summer. At least you can have a blast in the Lotus and not worry too much in the rain. Glad your enjoying your two stable mates . Em

: ) very true! Although having followed Gonze's tips for adding seals to the doors the wet weather runs have been wetter on the outside than the inside of late in the Morgan laugh
