Anyone know if there's a 'kill switch' or similar fitted to the Plus 4 CX? Just came back from a 20 mile drive - car running perfectly. Stopped the car at my garage to open the door and the car will now not start. Everything - lights, wipers, dash, start button all dead asx a Dodo. There is no electrical power flowing in the car at all. Checked the battery and other visible wiring connects - all tight and clean, as it should be on a 4,000 mile car.

Any ideas or similar experience out there?

Regards.. Chas

A similar thing happened to a friend on 11th August. He had driven 20 miles or so, parked but then decided to move the car a little to straighten up and nothing would work!
Although not easy to see in bright sunlight, the overseer light was on.
He tried many times without success, then gave up; but after about an hour or so, everything went back to normal by itself and he was able to drive home.
He took it to his local main dealer the day after. They did an investigation and found a number of faults stored, which he had no idea had occurred. In line with current MMC warranty practice, a report had to be sent off to the factory to get authorisation to carry out repairs.
Sadly, the car is still at the dealers as their Tech is off sick and MMC insist that its the dealers responsibility to remedy.Exactly what the issues are is unknown to him at present, but he is not happy about it, as one might exoect.

Try to disconnect the battery it wil allow you to reboot it. But it can be tricky to get it to go smoothly. You may need a couple of goes.

Had the same. Disconnect battie. Very important ... wait 5 minutes. Then reconnect the battery and everything should work again

I had same issue - if it’s got an immobiliser factory fitted then this is the issue. I had a global Telemetrics one and even though over the phone they said it was working ok when dealer even got car in workshop it was an immobiliser fail.

Today the car wouldn't start . The dreaded OS fault.
I left it off battery for nearly 2 hrs but still there. My OBDII dongle shows no faults.

Further to the thread that I added on 21/09/24, of a friend’s experience with the OS and non starting: It was at the dealers for 4 weeks pending factory report etc. They have now got the car back but are none the wiser!.
Apparently MMC thought it may have been water getting in somewhere, but when the problem happened, it was dry and had been for some considerable time.
Think they are wishing they had kept their trad as with all the down-time since purchase, their confidence in the car has taken a severe blow.

When we first had our Plus Six it cut out after I had just come off a 45 mile stretch of motorway and was slowing to about 3-5mph for the first junction traffic lights, everything died and the car came to an abrupt stop and was still in drive.... car would not restart at the lights ( not a good experience ), after about 1 minute of ignition on and offs the OS light came on, followed by the engine warning light and then normal dash display and able to select Park and then she restarted.. drove home about 10 miles, no issues. The car went back to the dealer.. they reworked all the cars earths.. after this work the diagnostics came up with an OS fault code, so the OS unit was replaced.. Since then no issues...

I had the same problem. Morgan had to replace a control unit.
However, the vehicle always started up again after a short standstill period. The main problem was that the engine stopped while driving and then the OS warning lights came on.
