Our 1993 T16 Rover engined +4 has had an intermittent fault over the last 12-18 mths where it will sometimes run all day without fault, yet other times the car will stop after anything between 5 and100 miles into a drive. The fault has been narrowed down to the ECU no MKc10034 and we are either needing a replacement or a firm that can remap (?) the ECU. It has already been looked at by a Morgan garage and the ECU tested by a specialist. The fault has been monitored using garage test equipment and seems to be coming from the ECU. Any second hand model no: MKc10034 available anywhere please. Also is it possible to replace the ECU with a different ECU model numbered unit, if so which numbered units can be used? Thanks in anticipation.

When I googled MKc10034 there seemed to be plenty available at not ridiculous prices.

I can only find two on ebay, both from Spain, both second hand and don't fill me with confidence. I too would like a spare as my ecu plays up a bit mostly on tick over speed, has to be reset by turning off the red isolator to get it running properly. would be nice to know if there is an alternative that has the two plugs and no immobiliser, seems unique to 93?

You probably don't want to pay this much for a new one as here but plenty of used later versions around. Note compatibility aside, they introduced immobilisers within ECU at some point. After reset and battery connection you get just one start until immobiliser is matched to key!

Best just to keep an eye on eBay, I have a space ECU for my 1096 car it was pre immobiliser so it just a case of plugging in the new one.

I replaced mine on my T16 years ago. The refurb unit had the immobiliser pin removed from the connector.

Thanks Will, what is the ecu number please? have been watching ebay for as long as I can remember without finding mkc10034 that is not a grubby second hand one mostly from Spain for some reason. finding an alternative ecu without immobiliser (as original) and with twin plugs. All other ecus listed are for turbos or automatics or with one plug.
I suspect a rebuild is the answer but a bit reluctant to put it in post due to its rarity.
in the past I have enquired to buy a new one, but have been told they only refurbish existing.

thanks, John k

Thanks Will, I bought that 10115 ecu years ago thinking it would be a replacement but it only has one plug socket, mkc10034 has two black sockets side by side. I don't know why, perhaps someone can enlighten me please, I don't know what year this changed to 10115.
