This amazing Alfa ( model unknown to me) was parked in Tarvisio, Italy.
Austrians come to this town close to the border to enjoy cheaper restaurants and drink, not that this guy will care .

You are right but both of the sites show the car, model ‘unbadged’ . On my original photo I can see SS but strangely the letters before SS looks like …ALIA but numberplate covers the other letters. Anyway for a 1960 car it is has beautiful lines. That back window would be hard to replace !

Yes dead right it is a Giulia (or Giulietta) Sprint Speciale , a late friend of mine had the only one in NZ , it was originally imported for the wife of a well known Continental car dealer in Auckland. They did come with a specially tuned 1570cc engine (or 1300) by from memory Conrero -one of the wizards of 60;s Alfa tuning .
EG 130 mph from a 1300cc 105 Junior coupe.

All the ones I have found show a clean rear without any lettering or crest. In your photo it appears to have been added to the rear. But you never know, sometimes the placement of the badging changed within a short time or a small series.

What makes me further unsure whether the badging at the rear in your photo is original is this Italian flag under the lettering, which was certainly added to the car much later.
Unfortunately, I can't see from the resolution of your photo here in the forum whether the badging is still present on the side of the car. (Giulietta sprint speciale).
By the way, it's a pity, this Austrian standard license plate that looks like a stove plate on this dainty beautiful rear compared to the compact old Italian license plates that let show more of the car.

One more thought about the lines. I don't want to split hairs and it is an exceptional car. But somehow, despite some very exciting areas of the design, I'm not really convinced by the overall look. Surely it can be one of those cars that look much more impressive in the metal than in photos. But somehow it's not what Alfa Romeo has done best with other models. Namely this incredible beauty of the overall proportions from every angle. It is positive that Alfa dared to experiment more with such smaller special editions. But with this Giulietta sprint speciale, for example, the front view irritates me somewhat. It reminds me a little too much of the Gullwing 300SL from 1954, which was certainly very popular around 1960 due to its performance. But anyway, it's a remarkable Alfa.

The photos were not my best work, broken lens cover on an old iPhone ! Also I only spent seconds taking it as no doubt the owner was watching from the bar but in the flesh & sun it looked spectacular. Yes the back (elongated) and the front seem a bit mismatched (?) but somehow work together today - Badging was probably added to put a bit of chrome on that panel, I would have been 11 or 12 when this was built and had I seen that in Lancashire in 1960 it would have stood out from what was on our roads at the time , Unsure when I saw an E Type up North ! Thankfully we had Diana Doors to add a bit of va va voom to brighten things up…..by illuminating things .MM
