600 km with only one stop for coffee and fuel leaving Barcelona port at midnight to arrive in Bilboa at dawn. Early checkin at the hotel followed by breakfast and a 3 hour sleep. That's brave! You are early for the Spanish event. So you have extended pre-event. I wish you a pleasant stay and a nice fete! One of our MSCCH members (the chair) will also attend the Spanish event. Must be very nice. I thought about it, but we are to busy and already travelled a lot this year, with the Morgan! Enjoy your stay! Accidentally posted in the wrong thread. I intended to post in the "So have you driven your morgan today?" thread. I will reply in that thread.

Greased front suspension and fitted 66 grade hard nylon block into inverted U channel of gearbox cross member secured with countersunk bolts, shaved to sit just slightly proud of member. It acts as a skid as well as spreading impact across the whole member. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/SKWuiXd.jpg) It's the front edge of this cross member that grounds on my car, thankfully rarely now until a recent holiday in the I.O.W. Seemingly wherever we went Google took us through a short cut which involved several speed bumps, quite severe ones. I don't think anyone in our large group managed to avoid grounding at least once. Interesting solution Richard, as the official skid plates (although well made) are a but pricey Could you post the supplier you used for the raw block ?

I'm finding with the Plus 4 sport not having a tool tray in the rear, the exhaust noise/boom seems to enter the cabin more and a little tiring after a while. So I've put a removable acoustic membrane (material I had over from flooring) over the top of rear parcel shelf and battery cover and under the front floor carpets to just take the edge off the boom. A little bit crude for now, but its seems to help, so I will in time find a more appropriate permanent solution..

I'm considering building a tool tray, which would act as a barrier and reduce the boom into the cabin, especially if I acoustically line it.
Whilst in the garage I sprayed the rear leaf spring with WD40 (what I had to hand) as best I could, another first for me...might be getting into this Morgan self help malarkey. We had to go thru some flooding on Saturday and the passenger leaf started to squeak after, so lets see if I helped deal with it........I know I should re grease the front in case the water has washed it away.........I'm considering that but it is a pain without a lift...so Life's might be calling

I had some running issues with the 4/4. The shafts on the Weber 32/36 DGV seemed a bit loose, and I suspected they could be sucking air. That, and the fact that it's 51 years old, I decided to replace it. When I got the new one, I took it apart and adjusted the float. It's a plastic float and the metal attachment seemed a little loose, but I put it back together and the car ran well.
About a week or so later it started to run worse. Seemed to be running rich. I took it apart again and the float was out of adjustment. I looked closer at it and the fit of the float is terrible, and the metal is very easily bent. I don't doubt that bumps in the road can cause it to bend.
I took apart the old carb and used its brass float. Much better fit. I feel confident now that the adjustment will stay.

Today, renewed the fuel filter as it is now 13 years old with 53k miles. Run the engine, remove fuel pump fuse until engine stops, to release pressure. Simple job once you get the hang of the “quick- release” pipe connections. (A misnomer if ever there was!)

I’ve been having an issue with the tacho, speedo, and fuel gauges periodically returning to zero when driving along. So today I took the fuses out then put them back in and went out for a decent drive. They now seem to be working properly again. Did all the other fuses while I was at it as a precautionary measure.

Could you post the supplier you used for the raw block ? Bought the 66 nylon block here Jon.
