Wasn’t Gambalunga the Moto Guzzi magazine ? Are they still an interesting bike.?

Talking Prosecco ……..we are in that wine area every summer for a few days . Selection of ‘Prosecco’ is very much to your own taste. We love Sancin (vino Branco supmante) but it’s €15 +, also happy to drink Contessa Carola Millesimoto extra dry @
€2.49 when somewhat regularly on special offer !! The choice of brands seems unlimited and sure the region cannot produce all that is on the market.. Unfortunately a Morgan might struggle with the amount we bring back….always legal quantities!

Can we talk fish & chip shop pies on this weird thread? I loved Hollands meat & potato pies when growing up in Lancashire unfortunately they had to change the product to Potato and Meat pie as there was only a bit of gristle in them.
The last ones I found were in Iceland . My wife thinks they are a northern abomination . Does any chip shop sell the cardiac Lancashire Butter Pie ?
Would be interested to know of gourmet pies sold in chippies or is this just an Aussie or NZ thing ?

Since I live in the town where Moto Guzzi motorbikes are built I guess I would have to say "Yes. They are very interesting bikes".
Yes, Gambalunga is also the name of the Moto Guzzi GB club magazine but that has little relevance to my choice of user name.

Italy is full of great wine areas, but perhaps we should discuss that in a different thread.

I have never bought a pie in a fish and chip shop. There are some great pies to be had in Australia and some of the best are sold by street vendors with vans. A pie floater with mushy peas from Harry's Cafe de Wheels is hard to beat.

There have been a number of articles about the increased cost of Fish & Chips has happened over the last few years. I think I mentioned it on another thread some time ago.

I still have more of an issue finding really good ones more than the price of them. I am happy to pay when they are really crispy and do not have that added oil flavour.

Nice picture. That's made me hungry now!

In Wisconsin a Friday night fish fry is very popular. One Friday I decided to make my own. Fried lake perch, homemade potatoe pancakes with apple sauce, cole slaw, rye bread, and homemade tartar sauce. Usually have a beer or a Bloody Mary with my fish fry but that night a glass of wine. Would usually pay $17-$18 U.S. at our local pub for a fried perch dinner similar to what I made. Nothing like a Friday night fish fry!

A great chippy where I live up in Cumbria….always long queues outside. The secret is to order online and have them delivered in his cute tiny Citroen EV! He’s tried to keep his prices down but the cost of fish just keeps going up. Thankfully he keeps the price of curry sauce down!

We’ve two pubs in the village and recently joined by a wine bar which has stirred things up. Due to loss of customers my local has reduced the price of beer to £3.50 a pint for the local brew. They are busy again!
