As already discussed, the luxury 40k+ rate will apply for a full 5 years from date of original registration on top of the normal road tax. If only Doug. It's actually six years after first registration. The five years start after the first year  Sorry I was indeed in error. But on checking gov.uk the 5 years starts from the date of the second licence.

Still getting your beauty of an Aston out and about ? Thank you for the compliment. She is in dry dock just now, waiting for my mate Harry to put on a new nearside front caliper and flexi-hose. Last time I was out, it started smoking (not The Mask type!) so no more driving until it is repaired.

All fixed and ship shape now as well as being street legal after 1 month SORN. MOT was a scrape-through because of emissions but my mate Harry, ex chief Kia mechanic said Forte additives were the best, so I am trying a couple of them. Phoned Peter Martin, the Aston maintainer in Glasgow and he said that Forte cleaners were really good. Harry said he could do an emissions test on the fly but I'm NOT to go to an MOT station to get that done.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your MOT Boab, My Mog is due it`s MOT next week, though no problem to run it till it gets stinking hot, before presenting it for an MOT, it is taxed all year round, in the off chance I want to take a spin at any time...(-:

Sorry, Bob, I thought to add a little "local" ..err..charm. to my comms. Also apologise for not picking up on the fact your Aston had passed the dreaded test... seems I may not be as bright as a 2 watt lamp at times... Duh..!
