Does anyone have any recommendations for a decent waterproof outdoor cover for a 2019 +4?

Top quality and outlasted my previous Jon Taylor cover by 24 months and still going strong.

If you want something more substantial though for a similar price try this fitted, multi-layer, breathable storm cover that is supplied with it's own valise.

Beware the abrasive effect of a cover. It might be soft and plush on the inside, still - with the fabric moving/flapping in wind and perhaps some dust on the car it will affect the paint over time. If your car has to live outdoor I would advice against it, except for torrendous rain etc. My preference would a cockpit cover protecting just the hood and windscreen, i.e. John Taylors version.

Forgot to mention I bought the Stormforce cover to protect my, as new, car at that time. I typically left it covered with same at marina's for weeks on end whilst cruising on my narrowboat. The locked under straps and soft inner lining caused absolutely no issues I could see with paintwork and four layers including breathable one gave extra piece of mind. I'm not convinced the car would have faired so well with a thinner one flapping around in strong winds, no matter how soft the inner was.

A plain cockpit cover one wouldn't affect paintwork so much and good for a single night or two whilst holidaying but wouldn't keep out the dampness inside car long term.

My Mog is outside all year round. The Jon Taylor one had a fabric mesh kind of outside layer. Within 18mths the outside layer had lost most of it's waterproofing and it was just like covering the car in a wet blanket. I did try and re - treat it, but without much success.

The Cover system one has a 'shiny' outside layer and a softer material inside layer. Means I can clean it with a hose and cloth (my car is parked under a tree so 'sap' is a real issue). It has three straps that fit under the body so has survived every gale that's been thrown at it over the last 4 years. I also have two extra storm straps that you can put around the outside of the cover, but have never needed to use them.

Been no damage to the paintwork. It also has two waterproof access zips for the doors, so if I need to get into the cab at any point I don't have to take the cover off.

Cover systems also do an 'undercover' to further protect the paintwork, but haven't found the need for this.

Ah centre isle on a Thursday, got all my motorcycle wet gear from there was still waterproof after 15 years of use when I passed it on to a charity shop.

The problem with Outdoor Covers is that you can't use them when you get home after a run in the wet. Although I have seen one which had a frame. You park the car within the boundaries of the frame then pull the cover up and over on hoops.

I used a Specialised cover for ten years on my Golf, which wasn't often used, but as others have said, the Golf had to be cleaned and dried before the cover could be used. After ten years it was wearing the paint, even though I used neoprene buffers at the high points. It didn't stop condensation underneath either. And after ten years it started to delaminate. That was after the neighbour's woodburner put nearly 100 holes in it. He wasn't bothered.
