Re Migraine - whilst my trigger seems to be caffeine, another common trigger is dehydration.

Usually get mine when I'm tired and run down - usually only lose sight in one 'eye' but it's all very blurry. I can usually still manage to carry on teaching the class, but wouldn't risk driving. Optician recommended Ibuprofen or a caffeine hit - find caffeine works quicker.....

Paul - Stress is the trump key for Heather, any highs or lows of an exaggerated nature is a Sumatriptan time on prescription and it does work for her.

If you know your trigger and have a fix, you can count yourself fortunate. I only get the flashing lights which means 20-30 minutes with eyes closed. Annoying if it comes on when driving as I have to pull over but otherwise not too debilitating.

One of our friends gets migraines that knock her off her feet for three days and she doesn't yet know what the trigger is. Very disruptive.

So for me it's Yorkshire tea, (The plantation is just down the road). just with milk, and obviously Yorkshire water.

Is it Tetleys who are on the verge of going bust?

At home I swear to my Jura J8, makes perfect espresso's, cappuccino's, lattes, etc. I choose my beans, the milk (or oat-milk for the Vegan relatives), and it tastes perfect. When I became 50 years old, I bought myselff my first Jura. This one is the third one. They last 6-7 years, so the cups of coffee are expensive, but you don't think of that when enjoying your drink! coffee

Since taking 450mg CBD oil each day, my migraines have reduced massively. Recommended by someone on TM.

Feverfew can also help.

Nice coffee Ruut! coffee

I have a friend who has just bought a Jura machine. He wasn’t prepared to pay £2500+ for a built in Miele machine.
We have a mix, La Pavoni with a boiler - old fashioned all chrome, all steam driven which is fun but a bit of a palava .
A Siemens built in but it’s not plumbed in so you have to fill with water, empty the drip tray, fill with beans, rinse cycle, milk cleaning cycle and a descale…………it’s called kitchen management ! Aggh. Give me a Nespresso for speed but not when you have more than 4 for coffee.
Truthfully it’s in the beans selection. I like Lavazza and Illy . A friend abroad gives us coffee beans from Trieste (no name & Hausbrandt ), which is or was the home of ‘European’ roasting. MM
PS Instant is far easier and you just wash up the mugs and often I live with that ! …….

DaveW ... think the CBD tip came from me ... Mrs Image had crushing multi-day migraines she would pass out from, and it sorted her out immensely. Glad it helped you

Mrs B had severe migraines and they were linked to both stress and the menstrual cycle. Was sometimes really bad and lasted a few days. Tryptanes did work, but at the end she did not know which was worse, the side effects or the headache. She was knocked out by Sumatriptan. Luckily, after the menopause the migraine completely disappeared. Fingers crossed! Not sure if that is applicable for the penopauze too, and I am an endocrinologist.......!!🫣

Ruut that is identical to my wife, it will come on in seconds with excess stress but is a three day event post Sumatriptan before she is back on it at full power.

Our two Daughters suffer identically but our Son does not, so although not scientific it does make you think.

A friend of ours was intolerant with Sumatriptan orally but the nasal spray resolved that issue for her.
