This speed sensor is a direct replacement for MMC part numbers E340022 & E340110 as fitted to the M3W (2012 – 2020) which appear to have been discontinued by MMC.



It uses the same components as the original so is a direct swap. It comes with a replacement stainless steel mounting screw and shake-proof washer.

The clearance between the sensor head and the trigger should be in the region of 0.3mm to 2.3mm. Some cars do not have enough clearance so I’m including a spacer washer to slightly increase the clearance if necessary.

The price for this sensor kit is £70 including UK postage, which is around a 30% discount compared to the MMC price.

Also available is a ‘long-lead’ version which has a 1 metre lead that allows the connector to be relocated inboard (just in front of the oil tank) thus avoiding the majority of water & road dirt that otherwise could hit the connector. Looks neater too!

Please note that these are NOT compatible with E221002 as fitted to a few late production cars. This later type can be identified by the fact that they don't have a flying lead, the vehicle loom plugging directly into the sensor body.

Just an update that I now have a few of the long-lead speed sensors available for immediate despatch! These have a 1m long lead that allows the connector to be relocated from one of the most exposed regions of the car to the relatively dry area in front of the oil tank.
