My mog has just developed a random immobiliser problem, I think? It starts most times when I go for a run, then on occasions when I park, it refuses to re-start. I have recently replaced the battery, and this problem started a couple of weeks after. The battery and all connections have been checked including the starter motor. My assumption is the immobiliser is the problem.
Can anyone advise if the relevant immobiliser parts are readily available. And or offer any suggestions. My Mog is a 2011 4/4 Sigma 1.6L

Surprised you haven’t looked at the thread currently running in the Maintenance section. It is entitled “Workshop Note: Immobiliser C2016” ; at the time of writing this, it is the third thread down on that section.

Hi Cat302 and welcome to Talk Morgan. Assuming your problem is an immobiliser issue you can go straight to a current thread on the issue mentioned above by clicking here. In essence the transponder chip in the key needs to be a minimum distance from the immobilser sensor coil.

I imagine the immobiliser ring will work, but if it doesn't here are some of my experiences.

On my previous 3l Roadster the fuel pump relay failed. In typical MMC logic that relay powers the ECU. I thought I had an immobiliser issue.

Also the earths can corrode but it isn't always obvious. A clean might be in order. On my car I thought the starter motor was sticking but adding a jump lead as a makeshift second earth proved it was the engine to chassis earth.

I had the same problem, changed battery etc , it turned out to be a relay problem as suggested by John & Richard in the thread below.
