Yes they are. Now that both rear springs have been replaced (under warranty) the improvement in ride and handling has been remarkable. I don’t find the suspension soft but that may be a matter of taste. I will run the car as is for the time being. I have already spent enough time and money getting my new car right so I will hold off on new shocks at the moment. Issues with spring suppliers would seem likely. All the Australian Morgan dealer will say is that my right spring was “not quite to specification”. Strange part is at least three (may be 4) cars delivered to Australia from mid 2011 had exactly the same problem. If Morgan know the reason they are not telling me.

There won't be too many manufacturers of springs left nowadays. There was a problem with remanufactured MGB springs way back in the eighties. Original BL spec springs were supplied with a nylon type interleaving and with half a dozen or so keepers on each spring. These were made from two stamped brackets which interlocked with each other around a nylon spacer.
The remade springs had no interleaving and the keepers were a simple piece of steel which was rivetted to the lower leaf and hammered round the spring. They all seemed to have different static camber, soon flattened and were hopeless. It took a long time and many complaints before things improved.
Morgan springs are nerrower than MGB springs, with fewer leaves, and those I've seen at the factory all look to be the same. It seems unlikely that a batch of sub standard springs should all end up in Oz, unless all cars built at that time are similarly affected, so I would be inclined (Ha!) to blame the shipping conditions.

Somebody nearer the factory may be able to give more information but I was told by someone, I now don't recall who, that Morgan have changed suppliers more than once in the last 10 years or so. I was also told that they are now sourcing their springs in Italy but that may be quite incorrect.
