He's a bit irritating, and probably started out as an EV evangelist, but has done a few watchable blogs about the ups and downs of his Taycan.

It seems that Insurance companies may be waking up to the fact that an EV fire costs a huge amount more than an ICE fire.

Dave I think I posted that or a very similar vid in the TV/video section a few days back. all a bit click bate and alarmist which may suit the anti EV brigade.... but IF TRUE.. in terms of reported insurance issues, definitely concerning given my Tesla already costs more to insure than my C4S and I charge my Tesla at home.... On the other hand perhaps an alternative report on the core subject might be worth considering... although I am perhaps posting it in the incorrect section of the forum..?

Please don’t promote these rubbish YouTubers. This guy is monetising his moans and damaging the car industry at the same time.

Amusingly he writes “not clickbait” in his headlines even though that is exactly what it is.

While I do agree that the presentation is rubbish, the core story could be of interest to others who own EV`s or might be interested in Porsche related items.

Clickbait videos and excessive advertisements are starting to make YouTube unusable.

The amount of clickbait with headlines or images that are misleading and often don't even relate to the content is just astonishing.

I don't mind a little publicity but it has become just too much. I find €14 a month just too much to pay for ad free access to what is largely rubbish.

No, no YT is the best source of accurate, true information. So said a contributor to another forum who was rubbishing the Beeb news for bias and inaccuracy.

As others have pointed out, the YT business model is almost consciously designed to promote misinformation and clickbait, much as the Daily Mail website does. There are some great YT channels which I watch a lot (Jono Buchanan, Adam Neely, Paul Davids) but none of them have got anything to do with politics or current affairs.

I insure with NFU. They are entirely happy not only to insure my house and my EV, but also for me to charge it in the garage rather than outside.

EV fires do happen, and they are harder to put out than ICE fires, but they happen 20 times less frequently. Anyone having issues with their insurance company would probably be advised to find one that uses decent actuaries.

There are some excellent YT woodworking channels such as Steve Ramsey, The Wood Whisperer and Fisher's Shop. There are also some excellent British channels as well.

Agree about YT ... aside from the glossy channels, if you want to know how to do just about anything from setting up a lathe to sexing chickens then there'll be some old bloke from the Mid-West or The Midlands will talk you through it ... it may be a bit long-winded and 'homespun' ... but it's hands-on .. and free.

Anything related to politics, sociology, EVs or current affairs should be selected with care!
