When I am manoeuvring my 23 Plus 6 in and out (ie going backwards and forwards) of parking spaces, the front wheels seem to 'skip' or 'jump' when I'm on full lock. It's like they are not quite pointing the the same direction of are out of sync...
Is this a 'trait' of the Plus 6 or should I get the steering/suspension checked?
Thanks in advance!

Professor M.It's quite a light car it might give this sensation on gravel not so much on tarmac. If your steering was that far out I would imagine it would pull left or right during braking, It's difficult without seeing it, If your not happy your nearest dealer would be the best option on a new car. Perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Its common on a lot of front engine/RWD cars.

I suppose it wouldn't be one of the tyres scrubbing the inner chassis as happens on trads would it?

My Plus Six does it, my Volvo C40 also does it, and that's 4WD. Both have fat tyres; I suspect that's a factor, but there's no sign of damage on those tyres from rubbing on body / chassis.

I suspect it's the lack of old fashioned Ackermann angle (the inner wheel has to take a tighter radius in the turn) power steering has negated the need for it, but sometimes you can feel the tyres being forced to loose grip and take the correct radius

I have to use full lock when reversing out of my garage, and in cold weather on first use the steering 'judders' an effect like running over a small obstruction. Completely disappears within a few minutes and doesn't occur during summer months. Dealer says his cars have the same issues when cold.
It might be normal and for one of the reasons posted above, but I can't say I like it

Thanks to all who have responded - I suspect it is a trait of the car as so many have said theirs exhibit the same behaviour. I'll mention it to my dealer when it is due its service as they are brilliant at steering/suspension issues having resolved a lethal handling issue with my Super 3 where the factory failed to. Thanks again for all the helpful inputs, much appreciated.

Please let us know what your dealer says. My Plus Six is in for its full service with MMC in March and I'll mention it to them. We can compare notes
