I always ask Rich to pat the tank whenever he visits. I know we aren't supposed to touch, but it;s something I have done when in the area.

Graham you are welcome thank you posting the pics.
As you can see there is quite a collection of beach pebbles on the tank now and some carry touching messages to the boys, they started to appear in covidia and like Topsy …..it is a beautiful thing in todays world 🙏

Super 3 I Have No roof Anyway
and in cold,low-salt winter weather
with stars,clear full moon night
with the Sun Low in the Sky
and the Clearest Air of the Year
with Other Nature Colors, not like in Summer
wintermorganing is different,
but it makes you ( me ) happy
and delight the soul.
This is exacly, why we drive "" Morgan"".

If the streets are dry and sans salt: We drive as usual hood down, no tonneau cover.

OK pantsdown
I have to confess that we ride with side screens when it is very cold and windy.
But we do that very rarely.

When i bought my Mog back in Feb/March 2002 I drove it from Market Drayton back home to central Scotland with just the tonneau and no side. screens and in subsequent years I have driven it in the snow hereabouts, and posted pics of that too. A few stents in the ticker and blood thinners equate to me feeling the cold a lot more, added to that for many decades I was more than happy to work out in my garage restoring, repairing or just maintaining whatever old sports car I owned at the time, having spent much of that time cutting out corrosion damage and welding in patches etc. etc. and that these days I am fI do not have the will to get down and dirty as I once did, it seems I may have become a tad more precious about the old Mog, as I dislike the idea of paying "specialists" rates to resolve any bodywork issues It might accrue if I take it out in Winter weather once again..

Thanks for posting the Sherman tank pic John. An old pal of mine was a real desert rat, after which he fought his way up through Italy and into Germany driving his Sherman, and when crossing a river in Germany he decided to risk the crossing with his hatch opened... His tank took a hit which he thinks caused him to find himself automatically swimming, to then end up on the fortunately sloping bank of the river as the only survivor from the crew. He did not know how long he lay there till picked up by the Yanks some days later, leg badly broken in a few places and then pined back together, He was just a great old chap, and very fondly remembered by me, having taught me so many house building skills..

I drive the +8 without hood and M3W when the roads are snow free (over a foot of snow proves difficult) and the temperature is -12C or above, below that temperature with wind chill requires very bulky clothing which is uncomfortable to drive in.

Bruce, a heated jacket will save the day and obviate the need for bulky wear. Works a treat.
