Hi all, Has anyone removed their car's dashboard? I want to take the centre panel out of my 2011 Plus 4 to replace it with a custom part but have no idea where to start!!!

Yes many times 0n my 06 car that doesn't have a cover under the dash. I believe the cover can be unscrewed.
Firstly isolate the battery.
Lower the steering wheel & put an old towel over it to "catch" the dash.
Open both doors.
There are 4 screws , you can see the two at the edges but towards the centre hidden by the leather dash roll are 2 more.
So unscrew them & gently lower the dash. At this point take pictures before the wiring connectors pop off.
Good luck 7 post some pictures please

On my 2011 Plus 4, there are just 3 main screws holding the dash, one central and one at each end, easily visible if you get your head down level. No need to disturb any leather. But deal with the undertray first...
The black plastic undertray is secured to the underside edge of the dash with several tiny screws along the length, so feel along with the fingers to get them all. The undertray stays in place with these screws out. The glove box comes out with the dash so empty that out first.
Some good advice from John above. You may find that as you pull the dash forwards, connectors may fall off and generally the loom might be rammed in like a load of old knitting! Mine was, so took the opportunity to tidy it up.
Don’t know what your custom part is but just be careful as all the press buttons etc are integral with the now somewhat infamous crappy, difficult to obtain printed circuit board!!

Word of warning. Be sure to find the original three screw holes in the ash frame when re-fitting. Start with centre one usually found by pushing dash up against leather roll under screen. It's very easy to start a screw in wrong place and not realising until screw half way in.

Top tip. When refitting you can raise the steering wheel to help hold the dash up.

Refitting is not dissimilar to putting a drawer back in. Just a but of lining up, jiggle, and force.

As Richard said, take time to find the original holes, especially the lower panel, which has some tension when fitted.

Hi Dave,

is this as easy as you have said, mine went back to Allon White yesterday for the fourth new PCB which they fitted on the way home the row of lights that fitted dropped out behind the dash they had not tightened the screws.

They want me to take ot back which is an 7 hour round trip, bad workmanship will never use them ever again.

Yep, Just as Deejay has explained! use the steering column to hold dash in place, pad column top with a quality cloth like a micro fibre cloth and raise the steering fully. Remove outer two main screws then supporting the dash at the centre lower point with your hand pushing it upwards remove the centre screw. still holding the dash lower the steering column fully. Now holding the dash with both hands gently pull it forward and at the same time lower and rotate the top towards you. moving slowly it will come to rest face down on the steering column. If you move the whole dash to the left you can rest the left hand side on the L/H door top. The rear of he instruments will be facing upwards and you will now have access to all that sits behind the dash etc. Take this time to tidy up behind there as thing do come loose in a Morgan! also look at your washer pipes, are they black, if so change them for a quality clear tubing along with the fittings as they will fail! Don't forget before you remove the dash unscrew the plastic dash under tray, two very small phillips head screws at each end but leave it attached to the dash main body. also check the screen pillar fixings under the front scuttle. They are often only hand tight as I'm sure the factory hand tighten them and fit the screen then fail to tighten the whole unit down and this is why the lower screen rubbers roll out at the ends by the pillars!

Refit is the exact reversal.

There really isn't anything frightening on a Morgan classic, just gird your loins and no that whatever you find you can sort and keep most of the money you give to a dealer in your pocket!

This is a job which once done, has no further worries. As I said above, just make sure the holes are lined up when refitting.

Don't forget to disconnect the battery first or pull the fuses
