Had I been 'selected' I might have felt obliged to contribute, but I didn't tick the contribute box, because that would have been a commitment.
A disappointing outcome, but I'm a definate wait & see. A monthly magazine on Morgans outside the MSCC will take some effort - I know that all too well with my column in Miscellany.

Could you kindly provide a link? somestick

I wouldn't hold my breath, as I fully expect them to have difficulties producing a pdf. And just to add to my little piece of sour reflux, I am somewhat surprised that he doesn't appear to be a "Morganeer" himself - I deduct that solely from his post about the third person mention of owners and enthusiasts.

Not that ownership of a product is the sole means of producing a magazine about something, but usually people who produces magasines without having "the heart" for it, are professionals and out to make money (so they need to be pros). This endeavour seems so amateurish I can't believe it.

What about the more than vague connection to Morgan in Malvern? I wouldn't be surprised if it was a poor attempt to lend some credit to the mag, and the "connection" is merely a matter of getting called in to press conferences and get shown the works a little more in-depth than mere mortals.

Basically I don't trust them one bit.

Well I decided to give them a chance so I've opted for their subscription offer. OK...if it all fails I've ended up losing a small amount of money but then its the cost of a decent curry in my local indian so I've got it in perspective I think.

Many years ago I supported a motorbike magazine "Moto Retro" that was a great concept but struggled to survive. I got to know the editor and really wanted it to survive....it didn't and I lost my subscription....but I was glad I'd supported them.

AQM,
I am disappointed to see such vitriol on this forum. I cannot see what evidence you could have to decide whether or not this venture will succeed or fail. I suggest that you have a bit more generosity of spirit and wish them well -- you don't have to take any part - indeed you don't have to post such drivel either!!

I for one wish them well - I will reserve judgement until I see the product!

I wish them well also. Looks like they are still looking for staff job advert. We need more people brave enough to start new ventures and provide employment.

I thought it would be obvious it was my opinion. I realise that it's sometimes difficult to see, but it should be pretty obvious that it was my opinion.

I never actually said it would fail. I said that what we have seen is amateurish and certainly not "professional". I have made no claim as to whether it would fail or not. Personally I think it will never make it to the first copy, but hey, although I'm a journalist, I'm not working in the UK, and haven't been working for magazines for years.

Seriously, the "I will reserve judgment until xxx" is a cop out. If I were to think that, I'd expect them to honor the "first 100", and, secodnly that they got someone who at least knew their way around this forum to do the actual posting. It's not like talkmorgan.com is some place obscure in the Morgan world.

Ah, yes, the "vitriol". I get it: If you have nothing good to say, don't speak. Except, of course, when that isn't exactly prudent.

Absolutely not -- anybody is entitled to their opinion, but to use the language you used , without any seeming appreciation of someone trying to set up a venture and to dismiss such entrepreneurship to now assert that they didn't honour the "first 100" when you do not have any evidence that this is the case, I find unworthy of a member of this forum - a forum which has many disagreements, but generally manages to express points of view in a courteous manner.

End of comment
