I think they are more for wafting along in at pace and in style as opposed to nailing it so it's natural not to everyone's taste. I'll bet you wouldn't get the traffic light derby at the lights in the one Alistair has his eye on, I imagine it would see most of them off easily should you choose to.

I want to love the Bentley but it's tricky.........😆 it's got all the right bits but not necessarily in the the right place.........to paraphrase Eric Morecambe........🤷🏻♂️ Second sentence, I think that is a fair assessment. First one, well, I looked at the photo from the front and thought, that doesn't look too bad but (and as Heinz mentioned) as you look at the other photos, moving around the vehicle, it starts to look like a mix of styles. In the end it reminded me of a random YouTube video that the site notified me about: a young chap going to a kit car show. Setting aside the standard Porsche replicas and A/C Cobras, a lot of the others looked like cars that weren't quite right... surreal, or fever dream, versions of what you knew the car should look like. Also reminds me of the Excalibur, which is not a positive.

Very Bergerac on steroids! Bergerac is returning, complete with the Triumph Roadster.

They have some interesting cars from time ti time I prefer the 1951 Bentley special, this one is too bulbous at the rear., the treatment at the front is very evocative of the time.

The R-Type Continental is generally considered as one of the most beautiful cars, so you are taking on a lot if you think you can improve the design. I don't think this "special" achieves that. As Dave mentioned, it has echoes of the Triumph Roadster; not a car that is quite so highly regarded. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/01/26/1953-Bentley-2.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/01/26/1953-Bentley-4.md.jpg) It's a whole lot cheaper than a genuine Continental so somebody might love it. I'm not sure the mobile phone pictures taken outside Costscutter will help the sale though!

I agree Ian with the shape of the rear I think Paul’s comment was apposite too with it at rest in feeding mode 😉
I think the car in Lytham is good value.

Putting the 'special' next to the R Type continental really shows the special to be 'special' for all the wrong reasons........😱 To use my benchmark of getting a prime parking spot in front of the casino in Monte Carlo, I think I know which Bentley would be most welcomed........

True but the special purchaser is unlikely to have the necessary cash to stay at such a hotel, the owner of the real deal would is the point really.
Alistair fronted up in his coupe and was sited in prime spot, so Morgan trumps all 😎 so you now know what you have to buy 🙏

When the good lady and I went on our two month tour down to Amalfi we had a stop booked at the Hotel de Paris with the aim of re-enacting the Only Fools and Horses episode. As we arrived they removed the brand new Ferrari TdF that was in front of the steps and put the Coupe there. Every night they put it in the underground car park and every morning they bought it back up and put it on the steps. Sometimes we could not even see it for the crowd taking photos of it. I will see if I can find some of the photos. I did not know if I should laugh or cry and the people rubbing up against it. Then I got the bill. Found one. They put it in the centre place. Cars coming up the hill into the square all slowed down to look, it was funny to watch. Such a beautiful design. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/01/26/Coupe_HoteldeParis.jpeg)
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
