Generally top-down through the year unless it's persisting it down (Mrs image then requests the hood) .... not been out much over winter ... nothing to do with the car or weather.... the foresters trucking out 2500 tons of logs down our drive rendered it more than somewhat muddy and rough ... have taken to using the Landy for transport until such time as my 'digger-man' can get in and repair it.

Here's a snap from last winter though ... arriving at the 'cars and coffee' at minus 5 degrees behind the aeroscreens ... only 'topless' car there and the shivering organisers were impressed enough to make it their headline pic for the meeting report! 🙂

In the UK, its up to the user to decide whether to bother about winter tyres and the huge majority dont do so. Mind you its only in the north and in the hills where we normally get any significant snow anyway. UK tyres dont have to be approved for winter ( or summer) use.

Got to smile at the results of the survey. Its a part of Morgan street cred to drive in winter hood down. Mind you given the level of weather tightness you all talk about, would it make much difference having the hood up?

There's an option missing. Both up and down.
I do both options. Hood up or down.
None of this "macho hood down always" stuff. I prefer down and have suitable clothing to match the weather but will happily go hood up in more extremes I don't SORN the car and use it regularly. This weekend we were away with other taffmoggers for a " beat th3 January blues" trip. Not far, only abot 80 miles away. Weather forecast meant tintop. So be it.

Since buying the Morgan I've had the roof up twice and that was bringing it home from London and a return leg from , Liverpool journey both in horrendous rain. I actually don't like the noisy cabin etc with the hood up. We were out yesterday for 2.5 hours just below freezing temps with the wind chill, dodging rain showers, got caught a couple of times thankfully whilst moving..

I quite like the change of driving hood up on wet and cold winters day, its a different car and driving experience and a quieter cabin especially if Mrs R is aboard!

I like the roof up and no side screens sometimes in the damp just for a change.

That's the way I used to drive it in inclement weather.
