I wonder if these awesome machines are legal in the States? If not, does anyone know what it takes to make them legal? Also is there a company or individual that can change the Aero to LHD?
It appears that I could import one cheaper than the prices over here? Until I know the $$'s to make legal and convert to LHD I am merely speculating! By the way I am an ex-Brit living in Atlanta for 50 years. I am blessed to own a Silver Spur, GT3RS and Ford F150 Raptor!

Welcome to TM with your first post
Far easier to just buy a US model as the Aero was Factory built in a specific US approved spec, eg different indicator repeaters, and then the steering's already correct too
The cost to swop RHD to LHD will be huge, don't forget after all the mechanicals, the footwells, dash and passenger airbag will still be wrong

Two versions were taken over.
Aero Series 2 also called the Aero America but this may have been a giggle nick name following the film. Aero Supersport, but not the Coupe (hardtop version) I believe.
I think the comment re specific versions is correct.
Very small numbers of each.
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

Another year or two and the first Series 1's will be importable in to the US, as they came out in 2001.
Under the 25 year rule you won't have to worry about limited editions, or right hand drive, or limited mileage under "show car" import rules.
An S1 Aero is around £50k at the moment, or $60k USD at today's exchange rates. Cheap car.
Current - 2013 Plus 8 Previous - 2002 Aero 8 S1, chassis number 96 - Ragusa Green Metallic

Very small numbers of each. Also 20 AeroMaxs were sold into the US market. These were on top of the original 102 EU versions that were made. There is some question over how many actually were sold to the USA but the intended figure was 20 and the lowest number that ended up there, that I have heard, is still in the teens.

The export series 2 was known as the federal model and had a not so subtle shiny metal vent on the lower wing. There are quite a few really nice Aeros floating about at the moment.

Simon.I remember seeing a stunning metallic white one in dispatch with Charles and Mark lLeddington and it had a squarish plate over the bottom wing vent. It honestly spoilt the look of the car cant quite remember the reason for it but was only on the federal model. Em
