Having bought and used Solvol Autosol for as long as I can remember it appears that it is not what it used to be. I have opened two new tubes and a liquid comes out rather than a paste which is quite pathetic. Anyone else noticed this. Is there an alternative in a tube that forum members recommend?

It might just have settled from being on a shelf for a while (guess they don't sell the volumes in these days of massive plastic bumpers 🙂) ... have you tried 'massaging' the tube to mix it all up a bit?

Tried that. In the end I just pored it all into a container. It was like single cream.

That's no right, I recently bought a tube from our small turnover local garage and there was a small amount of linseed oily looking liquid that it spat out and the paste was ok. Consistency of gritty toothpaste.

Never had it as quite as liquid as you've experienced but I don't think it's as effective as it used to be.

Also I've noticed that it's no longer called Solvol Autosol, just Autosol.

They used to have a clever slogan in car spares shops, "polish spoken here"

I've experienced the liquid in the tube too. I now by it by the tin on Amazon 750ml for £26.40
