Certainly isn't but fun here at St. Goueno in France. I'd love to see it undressed the engineering will be top class. All I could recognise were the front sidelights and rears I love these specials though they are bonkers, favourites are the Judd powered one's they sound like Valhalla to me
Originally built by Brede Alnes for the Norwegian Gatebil Series (at the time with a 4 Cylinder 1.8L Turbo Engine), this is now Chris Slade´s Monster, powered now by a 870Hp/1014Nm 2.5L Straight 5 Turbocharged Engine and we were finally able to see it trying Hillclimbing in the last few years at St. Goueno in France ( clips show are from 2017, 2018 and 2019).
As one can imagine everything on this car is custom made asd little of it is actually a Mini to begin with. Body is built by Z-Cars, entirely from fiberglass, using Lexan windows and of course the whole Chassis is tubeframed. The custom independent suspension was built by Mobek Racing using Bilstein shocks. The brakes are AP Racing four-piston with 310 mm discs up front and Audi S3 with EBC Turbogroove discs in back. One of the other modifications performed by MR. Slade since aquiring the car was fitting a 6-Speed Sequential Gearbox.
Engine used is a 2.5 L Audi 20v 07K inline-five upgraded with JD pistons, H-rods, forged crankshaft and a Dry-Sump System. It produces 870Hp and 747 lb-ft (1,014 Nm) of torque thanks to a Precision 64/68 turbocharger and 1600 cc injectors.
The custom AWD system is assembled from the Audi parts bin using an Audi 02Q six-speed manual transmission from an Audi A3 2.0 L TDI with a Tilton 2-disc clutch and billet flywheel. Rest of the drivetrain is sourced from an Audi A3 with GKN custom driveshafts and a modified Haldex Center Diff, maintaining 50/50 power distribution at all times.

Huge off track moment at 4:30 and the car lost 10Kg of bits and pieces but carries on unabated to win, classy stuff here in the stratosphere at this level
RIP Georg Plasa the previous BMW Judd Meister. There is a tribute to him on Youtube but it's really sad viewing, these men are something else they truly are I hate the widely mis - used title of legends but I could be tempted in this case.

Some nice footage Rich. The Mini Quattro looks a darn site better than the 4x4 Mini we see at Prescott fairly regularly. It looks as though it has just crept out of a junkyard. I've no doubt the engineering is sound though.

Seems there ever those looking to improve the performance which the manufacturers supply even in their most performant models... Porsche modifiers seem to know no limits either it seems. RUF have been at it for years, and "Ring" enthusiasts may well remember the RUF video from decades back where Yellow Bird, aa RUF CTR, drove an astonishing lap there..? This vid had the latest RUF CTR, and something a bit different housed within the apparent outline of a Porsche Trurbo that might be if interest to F1 fans of a few decadess back...? Sorry the vid does not include anything like as engaging as that of the Hillclimbing Merc, but provides a reasonable insight to just how far some folks are likely to reach to create some sort of ultimate, this that or the other...?

Are you talking about Allan MacDonald's wonderful sports-libre shed! 🙂 .... somewhat of a mini with the mechanics of a 450 bhp 4wd evo crammed under it? ... entertaining beast ... and the car's quick too! 🙂
That car is now retired and Allan has a big LMP type car .. like a Radical on steroids. He's some guy, ex-IOM TT rider and total petrolhead
