just greased the front suspension for the first time.
jacked the car up and pumped in grease. the lower grease point was easy as i stopped pumping when the grease came out around the sel.
where does the grease in the top of the suspension go as seemed to pump forever and could not see any grease comming out from anywhere. (yes there is grease in the gun).
how do you tell when you have put enough grease in.

I did mine today as well.

On a maintenance workshop last year we were advised 4-5 pumps was sufficient for the top grease nipple.

The upper grease drilling (where fitted) is tiny, and emerges from the pin fairly high up, so you'll be filling the void above the stub axle..........

This greasing malarky should be second nature to all classic morgan owners, the alternative is, that as in my case when I had a problem with the engine management light (now fixed)and took the car back to MMC for a general service and MOT I was told the kingpins needed replacing. This came as something of a suprise to both myself and my wallet as the car has still less than 10K miles on the clock. So from now on every 1000 miles I will definately grease those kingpins!!!

A MORGAN specialised workshop in Germany (British Car Service Schmitt) offers a very nice solution with a protection kit (kind of rubber cuffs). It protects the front spring from water, salt and little stones and is filled with grease via grease points.
They sold lots of these kits over the years.

They strongly recommand to give 2-3 grease pumps about every 1.000 kms.

It costed me about 30 Euros for the material and 3-4 hours of work to get the whole kit fitted by them. Absolutely worth to do this especially on a new car (or after a fitting of new parts).
Extends extremly the life of the such protected parts of the front suspension.

When you say 'grease points' are these the original grease nipples or additional ones. It sounds they are like Dave Wellings wrap around gaiters (very effective!!) but these don't have additional "grease points"

Oh, great, I just did a picture search with safety off. The search was suspension cuffs (not fit for work), lol.

I should have guessed something like that would pop up, ha ha!

Try Morgan suspension gaiters (or gaitors)...

There are a number of versions out there - some at exhorbitant cost. You could make your own quite easily from old tyre inner tube or even split electrical conduit - just hold in place with tie wraps.

I have a pair of Dave Ws, originally for the +4, but will go on the 4/4 eventually.
