With all the talk of gauges and sensors it must be catching. Started the Mog yesterday fired up instantly with a big red triangle with stop on it flashing on the dash and would not engage gear. I then switched off started again only for it to vanish and the engine management light to come on.Drove 80 miles which included a fuel stop to my daughters where I took off the terminals after a quick re connect the light went out and drove home. The couldn't engage gear is a new one on me engine running spot on with 41.6 mpg. Any thoughts. Em

Hi Em, the only warning sign I can see in the handbook with stop on it, is an octagon for a powertrain breakdown.. This is only a guess, but the Overseer module is a possibility to consider, as there have been a few reported weird issues that ended up fixed by replacing this module.. The early Plus Six seem to had a few replaced, ours included. After we first purchased the car, the car came to a halt at traffic lights coming off a motorway while in gear, would not restart with engine management light on, then display went blank, after several ignition on/off the normal display came up and the car restarted with no sign of any issues. The dealer found nothing wrong with no fault codes recorded at that time, they remade most if not all the main earths after talking to the factory, after that the car came up with a Overseer fault. The module was replaced and touch wood ok since.. I guess it would be worth a quick trip to the dealer to see if any fault codes are recorded.

Hi Dave. Thanks for that It was the power train light, Mark at the factory did say she needs to come back for a plug in every couple of years for upgrades. I very much doubt the overseer module has been changed as the car had under 2k on it when I bought it. As I mentioned came back last night with no issues, flippin annoying all the same. Em

The overseer comes on if the battery is discharged but then the car won't start.
Also the battery terminals are done up tight

I remember talking to a fairly local f40 owner at a Pistonheads meet a few years ago, he said everytime he goes out in the ferrari it's an adventure he was never sure he would get home. It would either try to kill him or it would brake down. Now the mog is not like that at all but they do throw up some niggles from time to time. Em
