The word "Twice" was often used, now it is replaced by "two times", however it was a common term in old US movies "A two time looser"

On acronyms, a former colleague used the following in his training of IT sales people:

Acronyms Ruin Sales Everytime

This one could run and run... smile

(I can't help noting the irony of "jbk" complaining about acronyms wink )

Mrs W always sighs at the things I point out on television. For instance, one of my current gripes is that a scoreboard is invariably called "the leader board". Even on House of Games where there are only four people on it!

Richard Osman is my particular bête noire at the moment, for someone who earns a living as an author he's a poor wordsmith. Asterisk is "asterix", each day's winner is a "champion", the suitcase is "luggage", salt and pepper grinders are "shakers", the button is a "buzzer"....

I need to lie down.

Steady on guys, letting yourself get wound up by trivialities is not good for the health! smile

You need to be enjoying the way language and life is changing, not getting stressed by it, you're not going to stop it.

It's like farts. People who don't find farts funny condemn themselves to a life of just as many farts, but considerably less pleasure.

There is hope for the younger generation, whilst the use pf the English language may suffer at their hands , there is still hope for those that won't /can't fit into the convention of a school system, I know both of the instructors and they are very talented, its amazing we are basically in part turning the clocks back to the secondary mods school system with more emphasis on vocational skills, so necessary to our economy. Not every child is gifted in the same way, so why apply the sausage machine method where the by product waste gets in effect thrown away We need far more technical colleges etc giving vocational skills to those less academically gifted, so they can have a meaningful and constructive life, where the current system fails them

I get annoyed how our language is spoken. . Beth Rigby , Priti Patel all drop their peas (Ho Ho) . It all ends in in !
Sadiq Khan calls London …hour Sidee.
Cannot listen to them . Drives me nuts. Do the schools not teach kids how to speak .
BBFN …MM
PS bye bye for now in case you did not know.
PPS …. GOIN SKIIN now as Beth would say.

No. That's the job of the parents/guardians.
