They would be crazy to not take advantage of any low volume concession.

I seem to remember a yellow EV a few years ago. Saw it at Prescott and nearly got run over in the paddock as it came from behind! Was it a Trad Plus8 converted? The low volume concessions are the area that MMC are in so hopefully that prevails. Tafiffs to USA would be a kick in the butt if the UK gets targetted. With the CX on the brink of getting a boost with US acceptance then a price hike would not be good. Look at the current import costs in EU countries, also Australia etc.

Clemens, thank you and I suppose if they are to stay in business they and we will have to face a major mind set shift and our weak Government is helping nobody by moving dates in a pathetic attempt to gain popularity... The EV3 was a good project and well ahead of it's time but sadly MMC got badly let down by the provider of the drive technology.

I had a run up the hill in it, alongside the development partner for the batteries. At the time he explained that they were attempting to balance the range vs performance; in other words, it could either be performance orientated (felt quick to drive or at least comparable to an ICE) or they could get a reasonable range out of it. However, achieving both, based on the space and weight they were working with was challenging. Of course, that was many years ago and as battery tech moves on, they become more efficient and therefore perhaps it will be a realistic proposition to see a useable, commercially viable, EV Morgan sports car.

Well, it's been a while, more than 12 years? If I remember correctly, wasn't it the case with the yellow Morgan Plus 8 Aero EV that they wanted to keep the transmission to simulate a very similar driving experience to the ICE?

Morgan did well in developing these one-offs, preceded by the Life Car. The EV3 was very nippy, I saw that in action at the factory, although the noise it made was a bit Scalextric.
The Aero was a speedster as I recall, which would save weight, and must be at the factory somewhere.
A few years ago the talk was of a fully electric Morgan and also a hybrid. Battery space will always be an issue.
More immediate is Trumps tariffs on imports which could seriously impact on Morgan's export plans, but then again, they need to keep below 1,000 units a year.

The Plus E was the designation. When I was last at the factory it was "resting" in store where the design team are sited. Probably gone now.
