Looking at the various as-delivered photos, I am wondering about security for the vehicle. No doors to lock, but how to secure everything else?

1) Is the steering wheel secured with the ignition key? (Or can someone come along and pop it off, leaving you stranded?)

2) How about the lovely spin-off wheels? Can they be removed with a pipe wrench and a big rock to stand the car upon?

3) Are the "hood" and "trunk" secured just with the Dzus quarter-turn fasteners? If so, I may have a solution for that...



Size is TBD, but one or more per panel can probably be replaced with Security-head Dzus "Lion" fasteners:

No answers to your questions, but a magneto ignition three wheeler doesn't have a key and even if one was fitted, remove one easy to find wire and it'll start.

I sometimes park mine with a motorcycle sized cable and padlock. I do have some chain, but as it will damage paint - don't generally use it.

The only place I've ever had a Morgan (the 4/4) gone through was at a bike race meeting. Not that anything worth nicking was actually inside, so nothing was stolen.

Answers from what I've seen to date

1/ Steering wheel is removable type but unfortunately too big to put in your pocket.

2/ Yes wheels took be taken off, but I'm not sure how large the market is for stolen wire wheels, but wouldn't have thought this would be to great an issue.

3/ The security fixing might be a good solution especially if your storing expensive crash helmets somewhere.

Maybe we need to look at a TM bulk purchase.

Slip the steering wheel off and pop it in the "locker" under the Security-head Dzus fasteners. That should trick them a bit

Assuming 2 helmets and a Momo wheel can FIT in there.

Not in the front I'm afraid, but they should in the rear boot. The problem is that it is not as secure as standard. I'll post some photos when I pick mine up on Saturday!

I'd have thought it possible to get a couple of helmets in the front, trouble is it's a lift off the bonnet job.

which looks like a two man job from what I have seen on youtube. As far as securing the helmets in the back, I would assume someone could always run a bike chain or something likewise in a wire form through the helmets and into the frame which would at least deter a quick getaway with such items. The same could be used for the steering wheel and those that had the tonneau cover could cover up the passenger compartment to at least somewhat deter bystanders from sitting in and or taking things when you are in a store or otherwise.

From your photo of my car John, with the larger productionised oil tank, there's not that much room under the 'bonnet'?


You may get one in on the near side, but the master cylinders for the brakes take up quite a bit of room on the drivers side?

Your probably right looking at the picture might have to see if I can find a local pygmy head shrinker.

Wasn't that keen on wearing the helmet anyway.
