Well a fairly predictable result in the Scotland v Ireland game. However, for those of us down here in Devon; well done Plymouth Argyle. Bud 4/4 - Stanley Spot on - good to see Argyle win.

The brother in law in NZ normally 'whatsapp' for the Irish games, even though its 3 am there at kick off, however Liverpool were playing so we knew his loyalties would be split as he is a big Liverpool fan. We caught the last frantic 20 minutes or so of the Plymouth game. Well done Plymouth as Liverpool have a tremendous in the last 15 minutes scoring record. The brother must still be sulking as he hasn't responded to nudges to chat.
The Scottish game was very disappointing and predictable and I started to switch off watching in the later half of the game.

John, next time I will put brain in gear and not excitedly touch type my reply. We are all entitled to our view, often see things in different ways and can all be experts in the world of sports ! I was desperately pleased to see a win for England. It will always be recorded a win and the score often forgotten as time passes. Win ugly, win in style, it’s a win. Stephen Jones does tend to divide rugby opinion and supporters . He was right though, France just did not catch the ball as well as normal, especially when approaching the tryline.
When we started up, our minis rugby club was all about inclusivity and diversity….all abilities did play together and winning was not the main reason to play .Definitely fun when we played other teams who were all about winning, with us it was all about enjoying the sport. Someone asked if the game was not about winning, why did we keep score, so as the kids got older and their different abilities started to show we moved to ability based squads. I think playing to win at.youth ages is important, as is sportsmanship and knowing how to accept loosing and learning from results. At a professional level winning encompasses so many aspects and IMO Clive Woodward was a master of the various components. The Scottish game (our bogey team recently) has to be a win for us and then it will get interesting. MM PS Let’s have a match report/view of performance in 2 weeks time and perhaps a predicted result ?? I might write mine tonight !!!

MM,
It would be a sad old boring world if everyone agreed about everything, none of us have the monopoly on the truth of it all. Stephen Jones is being paid to do a certain job, and sometimes by dividing opinion is one way of achieving that. I thought England would be in for a thrashing after the promise of the performance last week, and the disappointment that then followed against Ireland.
Unless France beats Ireland in Aviva resoundingly, Ireland (well Leinster actually) will be the first team to win 3 consecutive times........I can live with that as they have always faltered on the World stage and never got past the quarters...art least it's some compensation to them

I'll admit to missing Wales putting in some serious opposition in the tournament as like the Irish show absolute commitment and leave it all on the pitch in the face of adversity and hope to see them back in contention soon. England displayed this against France and it was a joy to watch. I never read any match reports or speculation as I don't find either anything more than speculation, just like Aunties news has become Finn Russell demise was Karma in action following his domestic violence - end of..

The Welsh are fielding a very young less experienced team and it shows. There certainly is potential promise for the future, I'm always a little wary of putting an inexperienced team up in a very challenging environment as youthful enthusiasm can sometimes lead to injuries that may haunt them for the rest of their playing career.

Reasonably impressed with Wales after the first 15/20 minutes had passed . Different team after those poor opening exchanges. A pointless box kick to give the ball away in the last 9 minutes when it was important to keep in hand, a missed try in the corner when it needed to be played in the middle and a couple of penalties …..could have been a one point win to Wales and I wouldn’t have thought the result unfair. Stir Ireland dug deep and closed it out professionally. Best MM PS Didn’t hear about Russell and domestic issues ….a bit Hogg like ? Funny how two great players have or had the same problems.

Finn Russell - my man of the match !!! Only because he missed all three conversions……. MM PS I will only remember this win, not the score at the end of the six nations
