Hi

I am thinking of changing my 2019 4/4 for a 2022 Le Mans CX model.
I have noticed a few come up for sale already and I am concerned about any potential problems I might find.
I would appreciate any feedback from any CX Plus Four owners.

Thank you.

The radiators fail. Get some kind of guarantee if you can.
My dials mist up in winter.
Otherwise mine is fine and drives well.

There was a serious brake issue so need to check that has been done.
I am sure you are aware they are all Manual boxes and many say the Auto ratios are best suited to the power unit.

The radiator and brake problems were subject to recalls for remedy. The brake issue covered both CX models and PROBABLY covered every car. If you look at a car check it went in for the upgrade.
Radiators in earlier cars had problems and fixes were found and usually fixed under warranty BUT check the history of any car you look at. Basically new radiators and swirl pot addition and ecu thermostat setting. These were the fixes as models were developed.
My Plus Four is an MY23 and no problems with either after 10k+ miles. As with any car the manufacturer makes changes to spec over time. Better seats in later cars, da#hboard mods ( airbags) and others.
It is a long assumed theory that Morgan built the cars and owners tested and developed them! 🤫 The build quality is better in CX versions marking another step started with the trad models

Be aware MMC changed rad suppliers in 2024 as they continue to fail. I hear the new supplier rad doesn't retrofit pre 2024 cars but they are working on a fix.

Welcome to TM, best advice is make a brew and read through the many thread titles on the CX section

A good choice and easily home maintained and repaired when needed, plenty of spares for the foreseeable also.

The fact you can do nothing with the CX, CXV and Aero chassis models stops me every time from changing my Plus 8.
Quite frankly £1,500 for a radiator change is nothing short of ludicrous once OO Warranty.

Enjoy your miles thumbs

Yep a Trad Morgan, although it might be dynamically not as good or quite as fast as a CX Morgan it likely does 75% of enjoyment for looks, hood off motoring experience etc and for many that’s just what they require.

The CX platform makes an amazing Morgan, but at almost double the price, and a lot more complexity than the trads, I agree with Flyfisher that Trads give 75%+ of the experience in a largely DIY package.
