That's taken me right back to the feel and sound of the clocking-in clock at Vauxhall in the '70s ... queing up to get your card in before it clicked over 🙂 .... so you'd get your brown pay envelope at the end of the week with the end of the notes sticking out so you could count them, a big staple through the middle and a little window so you could see the coins were right .... feels like a distant world now 🙂

K I used to work for a very old fashioned large building contractor that still up to maybe 2012 ? paid it's yard lads and joiners shop that way, I used to still buy the buff clock cards. When the joinery dept closed they binned the 2 lovely old oak framed clocking machines in the skip, I'd have loved one to stick on the garage wall at home

They have one or two clocks of this type at The Museum of Timekeeping near Newark. When (if) it re-opens, they host group visits as well as individual visits. Some or them, IIRC, were supplied by the former quality manager at Gent in Leicester who was, when I worked there in the 90’s, the unofficial company historian. https://www.museumoftimekeeping.org.uk/

My Smith electrical clock underdash setting button in my 2019 Morgan Roadster 3.7l became accidentally disconnected during working on the adjacent instrument cluster dimmer (another tacky issue). I tried to reattach the underdash elctrical cable to the prongs protruding fom the setting button using solderheat shrink connector without success. The clock stopped and cannot be set. Is there a way to rewire the setting clock button under the dash?
When I finished installation of Universal replacement Cole Hersee dimmer switch I found this switch seemingly incompatible with the roadster dimming system. I still have no dimming function. Otherwise the car is running great. I just recently completed major service.( New oil, oil filter, brake fluid, new air filter, change of coolant, new sparkplugs , new steering gaitors, new tires). I am greatly enjoing this car and getting ready for the Fall Morgan South meeting in Asheville, North Carolina. I like this car better here than when I was driving it previously in Florida. It is a rare car in the USA and I get many admiring comments on the car any time I take it for a drive.
Any helpful suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to TM John. Firstly for obvious reasons power to the clock is permanent so battery must be disconnected (you can pull the fuse near battery) when working on clock or indeed any part of dash. Any momentary single pole switch would work as clock adjuster if present one is damaged, this assumes clock still works though. The power to this is separate from adjusting switch so could you have disturbed this wiring as well Power to the clock is via body fuse 4. This also feeds door operated footwell lights, so if they still work you can assume fuse ok. It could be if you worked on a live clock your work on adjuster wires damaged it in which case replacement would be only option. Secondhand one available below. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/5E0AAOSwrlhkd2WL/s-l1600.jpg)

Thank you Richard V6 for your helpful response. In my case the clock control cable was separated from the set button switch. Is it possible to replace the push button switch (control switch under the dash) and reattach the cable from the clock? If the switch or the cable/switch assembly is available who would be the supplier where it could be purchased?

Caerbont would be the manufacturer (if it's a Smiths as per the picture) https://www.smiths-instruments.co.uk/?s=clock+smiths

Thanks very much TBM, I have communicated with this company and sent pictures they requested. In the meanwhile I have cut the previusly spliced control cable and this restarted the clock. Obviously showing the wrong time. To show the correct time I will disconnect/reconnect the battery. If can obtain the replacement push button switch I will reoconnect the clock control cable.
