I am just in the process of going through the Plus Six for its long tour of France in the summer. The tyres are OK but coming up to 5 years old, so I am going to replace them. The factory fitted tyres are Avon ZZ5 and the car has handled well on these, but it appears they are no longer available. The rear tyre size is 245/40R18 97Y Front I believe are 225/40R18 92Y. These are for the Speedster wheels.

Just wondered what tyres are now being fitted by the factory on the later Plus Six and what owners think of them. There is a fair choice for tyres available and some good makes, but I see a lot of the highly rated tyres are now showing as reinforced for the extra weight of electric vehicles and I would not have thought these are that good for a light weight car such as the Plus Six.

My Plus Six was delivered in 2024 with Avon ZV 7 tires. I was not happy with the tires. My impression was that the tires were comfortable to drive, but not particularly precise. So I switched to Continental Sport Contact 7 after just a few hundred kilometers. The difference is huge. Maybe a slight loss of comfort, but a much more precise steering behavior. For me and my driving profile, the SC 7 is clearly the better choice. (The tire is delivered from the factory in combination with 19" rims as standard.)

I have Dunlop Eagles fitted on my Aero and they were a huge improvement over the original Avons. Perhaps talk to your servicing dealer for their advice, Techniques were great when I changed mine and the relatively light vehicle weight was a serious consideration in choice. I'd also consider Michelin who also have tyres available in your fitments.

I believe the PlusSix 2024, just delivered new to BertR also drives on Continental Sport Contact 7 tyres. My PlusFour 2023 with 16 inch Wires had Avon ZV7 and I am happy with those too! First time having Avons for me,..! I believe Continentals are the way to go for you!

Dave. I think tyre choice is very subjective and we will all have differing opinions . Like you mine have a few thousand left in them so I will change after our Scotland trip wear and not age. I like the Pirelli Pzeros gone through many sets over the years in the Aero the tread pattern was good less chipping pick up also had that small raised bit around the rim to offer some protection. Tyre degradation on the plus 6 is very good for such a powerful car however you cant switch the tyres around because their different sizes front and back. Em

Anyone else noticed that the Plus Four has a now a massive 'aspect ratio' i.e., 205/60 R 15 91V. Plus Six's are 245/40 R 18 92Y, this is one massive difference?

Just a quick update now we have our car back from its radiator replacement. We fitted Continental Sports Contact 7 XL's all round. Our Plus Six has 18" Sportster wheels and the SSL suspension upgrade.. We have now covered around 150 miles on the new tyres and so far we have found them to be excellent. A much more comfortable ride and very good grip, maybe a tad heavier on the steering though. Time will tell how the tyres handle as they wear and age, but so far very pleased with them.

The plus 4 on 15” rims has a diameter of 24.7” whereas the plus 6 on 18” rims but with low profile tyres has a diameter of 25.7”, a difference of just 4.18%.
So not a huge difference in overall gearing, and of course the plus 6 has a few more horses to move it along!
