Also thinking about the nitron upgrade for my MY22 PlusFour. Lots of positive comments inc from a Ruut and Spencer, but has any CX owner had the upgrade and thought it wasn’t a success or not a good decision. Any regrets or negatives (other than cost)?

Hi David, yes, just has it done. (without the anti roll bar, as not possible on the '22 model). Ive done about 100 miles since the change. a very much improved set up. mine is on the comfort set up rather than sport (not tried that). most noticeable on rough surfaces, much more comfort. it feels like the tyres a working harder too in soaking up some of the bumps. I felt the back end would dance around if you really pushed it with the original set-up. feels more planted now, but not had the chance to really push on yet. steering is also really nice now, not that it was bad before, lots of communication. its no Rolls Royce for comfort, but its much much better. I suspect over time you'll wonder why you ever changed it as it'll just become part of the norm of the car feel. I think for someone who drives the car a lot (im 22k in 3 yrs) it's worth it. if you're a 1k a year driver then it's expensive. I always suspected the suspension was the weak link, now it's probably the tyres & I quite like the Avons, they let you know when they're about to let go. Anyway, i'm glad I did it. just can't wait for the summer & all those alpine hairpins.

Yes, thanks Chris, and nice to hear from you again. I find the normal ride ok but a bit squashy sometimes and definitely ground out more than I’d like - although I might be putting a bit more weight on the back wheels than the average Morgan driver I’m at Williams breakfast on Saturday so may have a discussion with Henry.

A further update on the nitron package. I had a good run out yesterday around the NE Welsh hills. bad surfaces have the rough edges rounded off making it a much less crashy ride. very poor surfaces at low speed, up to 15mph (im talking single lane back roads completely pot hole riden) is still a little crashy. ride improves on rough roads as you speed up & the crashy-ness disappears. a little lean in the fast bends (on standard setting) ..which is nice. you can get into a nice flowing rhythm without the sense of abrupt changes of direction. less kickback thro' the steering wheel on the rough stuff. its now difficult to remember what the old system was like, as with any upgrade, I always think its more noticeable when you go backwards & remove the upgrade. still happy. im looking forward to those lovely roads thro the Black Forest this summer Clemens.

Chris. Let me know Chris when and where you'll be in the Black Forest. Maybe I'll see you 😎 I'm going to Malvern with a group of Dutch people in June 😀
