Delighted to see many of you appreciating the car and others coming around to it. I love it. Curious though perhaps unsurprised about the negativity from some quarters. Have had a read through the totality of the comment thread here and on some of the fb groups and thought a bit about some of the objections and negativity... I thought I might offer a counter in the nature of some perspective to these criticisms?
Some people don’t know a good thing when it’s staring them in the face.
It’s 2025. It is nice that you are passionate about your purchase but I I would have expected you to appreciate that any design will divide opinion. Each person will judge aesthetic merit in their own way; furthermore, everyone has their own ideas about what represents beauty and is therefore appealing and attractive. As someone who takes photos, I am sure you understand the Golden Ratio and whilst there are some commonalities among the way individuals appreciate a subject, so much of it is down to individual taste and perception. As for your support of MMC as a company, you are not the only one and many of those people you are addressing have done so for decades and with purchases of many cars and models. So, you are not alone in wishing the business to do well. If I may say, your post comes across as quite aggressive and struggling to appreciate differences of opinion and aesthetic ideals. This is not the first time you've taken this approach, and tone, and been dismissive of Morgan cars prior to the CX. TM is a great place to share opinions and have a civilised conversation; however, preaching, taking an argumentative stance and belittling other people's choice of a car, less so. I read the Pistonheads thread last night and that seems far more worthy of your approach, as do some of the comments on the various YouTube videos. With TM, you seem to be preaching to the choir and picking a fight with people who have owned Morgans for a very long time, supporting the company in the process, all because some of them have a differing idea of what is attractive to you. Simon, I'm sorry it comes across as "aggressive". You guys seem to call it 'banter' when it's levelled in my direction or the direction of those who are excited about the new cars, but seem unhappy or triggered about being on the other side of it. I'm sorry about that! Do let me know if this isn't the forum though for discussions like this! I'm just not sure what the negativity that seeps in here is about. I know some of you feel I'm too hard on the 'old' guard, and I can only apologise if thats how it seems. For my part, I love the company's long and rich history, have a reasonable acquaintance and friendship with Charles Morgan and even taught one of his sons English at school, and have so throughly enjoyed being a new owner and part of that history. That said, in my limited time here on this forum I have found a surprising antipathy for the post 2019 cars. If there is a breakdown in the relationship between new and older owners, I don't think it originates at the new end of things. All the new owners I know are delighted to feel like they're part of Morgan's history. It's the tutting and fretting and disparagement from some of the older contributors that I think has put things at odds. I can't deny that most/all of you have more experience with the company and brand and indeed life than I do, I suppose what surprises me is how ready and keen some (not all) of you seem to be grumpy about ongoing development. I can't deny I'd rather be positive about things then negative, and optimistic as opposed to pessimistic, and with respect to Morgan feel both positive and optimistic.

Morning everyone, When the Midsummer was revealed I opined that it failed to meet a design factor for a sports car, the sense of speed when motionless. I haven't changed my mind. The Supersport strikes me so very differently and nails ( horrible term ,sorry ) that sense that I felt is missing. I particularly like the lateral curvatures of the wings which are beautiful and subtle. When I am in England next I'll pop along to BHM and I'm sure will relish the car in the metal. I wondered if it was time to move on from the traditional shape but no, not yet. My congratulations.

I'm just not sure what the negativity that seeps in here is about. Traditionalists tend not to like cars with modern design elements - it's not hard to fathom.

I just have a couple of thoughts about the car. I don’t understand why they can’t customise the gear lever like Morganpark can. But I have to say it does fit slightly better with the more modern feel of the Supersport. I would also prefer the look of a completely flat back panel, and smaller back window. I still would like one anyway!

Phil, thank your Mum for those shots as they somehow make the Supersport look far more Morganlike, with the best roof arrangement and a nice colour.

And what I like is that your mum, Phil, didn't choose a particular angle, as a professional advertising photographer might do, and that's precisely why the photos are so authentic. So I'm very pleased with how beautiful and harmonious the new rear section in the photo below looks to me.

From Phil's Mum's pics I think the alloy inserts front and back don't cut it like the all black version ... makes things look 'fussy' and cheaper somehow.

They're all light. They're all fun. They're all hand crafted. They're all made in England. They're all compliant and homologated for the necessary legislation. And you can buy them to order, however you like, in 2025.
And if one thinks they're too expensive go and have a look at the absolute bargains on the pre-owned page. If it's more than £12K it's too expensive

Yes, the convertible seems to embody and echo more the past and is especially attractive in that colour.
Whilst I enjoy my trads for what they are, as I'm getting a less agile. creak a little more and enjoy my creature comforts more, I can understand the growing attraction of the auto box, power steering, air conditioning, heated seats and a half decent ride. hopefully with growing mechanical reliability and less maintenance intensive, the latest models bring to the equation. As I find it easier to get down to the cold garage floor than get up from it these days, regular use of the trad requires nipples greasing more frequently and that necessary element of the Morgan trad ownership is becoming less attractive to me.
I enjoy the Plus4 for blasts around the local countryside and the occasional day trip out, but longer journeys I prefer more comfort and certainly need an auto for Sue to share and enjoy the driving, she doesn't do manuals and the steering would be too heavy for her 5' nothing. Sue has only been able to drive the very first CVH Morgan, a much lighter car to drive. and she does miss not having the opportunity to drive a Morgan again.
I'm pretty confident that you are only here once, so what ever floats your boat and if you can afford it, enjoy life whilst you can.
