Bloody hell................ It's been a busy day on this thread........😆......And it seems we're down by one member............🤷🏻♂️
As has been said, it looks like a step backwards to me as well. I was really hoping for something different, still a Morgan but........aero 8/max/lifecar ish......but no................... All those designers and still a rehash of a century old design....do they have no imagination......... An oportunity missed to do something radical with a great engine and chassis combo.......
It (imho) looks better with the convertible top than the hard top.....
MMC (The Italians) have no interest at all in 'legacy owners' or 'legacy dealers'. The factory are only interested in high net worth individuals, Porsche or Aston buyers.
What happened to low cost and simple sports cars for simple and low cost drivers.............

whilst I'm doing some self publicity about my social media; you can see my Behind the scenes of the launch of the Supersport or watch the debate between the four and the six, see my cars being made, or join me on a run or two with my friend, the ever popular Spencer (can't take criticism 🤣) exDalesPlusFour.

I was also baffled by comments that its a replacement for the Aero when it retains a largely classic design profile - I would say its a Plus 6 replacement.
Also the comment that it separates the "traditional from the modern" could have been applied to the Aero and CX platform.
The Aero was much more radically different in its time from existing models than than the Supersport is to the Plus 6 in my opinion.
Even had a boot and electric windows! (kept the louvres though)

goodness me, people like to jump to conclusions..... that wasn't a 'them and us' post, it's about demographics and target markets.
There wasn't any talk of negativity toward Morgan by anyone that I've seen in the thread; I only noted that some of us are no longer the target market for new cars and we need to appreciate the balance in the range. Thanks for the reply - over the years I've been on the forum there have been numerous discussions about the various models - the plus four and six, the Super3, CXT and Midsummer to name but a few, but everyones kind of muddled along and agreed to disagree. Spencers attitude came across as a little petulant, and then he's obviously had a moan to you (as, from your videos I assume you're mates) so you've piped up to stick up for him, and then tell us your not going to post anymore, but please subscribe to my Youtube channel..... I do like the idea of being 'youth' though, I'll tell my grandchildren (I did just tell my partner, and she laughed). Grandkids? Christ you're probably older than me...... please check out my video's, you'll note that 'arty waffle' is not my thing..... also slightly jealous of your 1990 ZX10 btw. The ZX10 is a glorious beast and can still suprise a few when I can be arsed. And I have watched a few of your vids, and sorry, they are a bit 'arty waffle' for me. Mind you, I can't stand that Harry bloke either and everyone here raves about him so my opinion can largely be ignored. My suggestion is stick around, get involved, share your experiences, have some fun. Stay out of the Soap Box as it's full of lunatics.

I only noted that some of us are no longer the target market for new cars and we need to appreciate the balance in the range. It seems to me that's an entirely reasonable thing to say. I don't mind in the least that MMC might not be aiming their flagship model at people like me. Truth be told, for my kind of usage, the Super 3 probably makes the most sense, were it not for the lack of weather equipment. The home maintenance bit would be no problem either, as you can get the FCOM software for £400 or so.

Julian ... I can see where you're coming from but:
A goodly number of Supersports sales will be to former trad 'old crusties' who need something more civilised as they become less robust.
Plenty of older drivers have embraced serial upgrades as new models have appeared ... and will embrace this one.
As a company that trades so heavily on it's history, seeing the trad cars and old three wheelers out being used (and abused) gives legitimacy to that sales pitch and stops the cars becoming an empty stylistic pastiche.
When the ex-Aston and ex-Porsche owners have done their 'morgan-thing' and flutter off to whatever the next new thing is, the drivers in the first two categories (and their successors) will still buy Morgans.
If the company are smart they'll spend a little of their PR budget generating a 'clubbie' group for the old cars, encouraging their use and building that 'family' connection from the oldest three-wheelers to whatever the last model was ... the best of their target demographic want 'experience' more than 'things' ... and that history and us old fossils that drive them is a priceless resource ... both for cynical marketing purposes and in genuinely building a brand that has real value for the customer who's tired of fancy appliances.

OK, I need a teenager as I can't seem to work out how to refer back to TBM.
firstly, I'm enjoying the openness and honest opinions of people on here. It's easy to tell if something hasn't been communicated accurately as you soon get feedback.
I'm not here to stick up for Spencer, he's more than capable of looking after himself. Although, you're right, we are friends, and we do talk, oh and yes, I did come and have a read after speaking with him.
Grandkids, yep, 5 of them!
Love the 90s ZX10, so many were drawn to the Fireblade and missed out on some theatre.
'Arty waffle' right, the next video is going to be dedicated to you, so you better be ready.
I may stick around on the forum if that's ok. I hadn't said I wasn't going to post, although you may wish I had 😄.

Just as an aside, what MMC need to do is get a grip on the parts issue. OK the Trads are generally well catered for, apart from crusty boards behind the dashboard and maybe replacement ecus, but Aeros have been left struggling.
In a few years, and with mileage plus age, plus leaks factored in, let's just hope that this brave new world of bespoke lighting and instrumentation, and unique design will get the parts support it deserves.

Alas, my age and thus more limited experience are out of my hands. But I take both your points that due to that lack of time and experience my voice and views count for less, and so will bow out here quietly.
All the best team! I’ll dip back in in 30 years or so when I can keep up with you lot. Look forward to see you all mid 2050s!
Good health and happy driving till then, DalesPlusFour. Spencer, I thought long and hard about whether or not to reply. I try to be completely honest in everything I say now. I have the impression that your reaction to leave the forum is a bit over the top. Yes, there has been some criticism of some of your comments and perhaps also of your manner in certain contexts. But does that have to cause such a reaction from you? I've often had to deal with offence in my life, or perhaps just the subjective feeling of being offended. Is it worth leaving the forum? Shouldn't it be seen as positive and give rise to a little bit of self-reflection? From my point of view, I would appreciate it if you showed a little less of the zealot and more that you are a bon vivant, which in my view you really are. Because I have enjoyed many of your really eloquent contributions. Your texts often describe driving a Morgan very vividly. Your photos are an invaluable asset to the forum, they are top class and very aesthetic. Your video, as Richard reminded, was with a wonderful message, and it shows the connoisseur in you. It would be a great pity if we could not continue to take part in your journey in Morganland. I imagine wonderful photos with your Supersports. Perhaps another inspiring video too. Please think it over again. You won't lose a jag if you revise your decision to leave. This forum is a benefit for all Morgan lovers and for each and every one of us. You are one of them. BTW I won't be able to be there in 30 years, that would be sad.
