A good Morganeering friend of mine, who I trust implicitly and also has a Roadster Four Seater has just fitted this himself (very brave)

[Linked Image]

He messaged me yesterday saying it was absolutely superb, saying how delighted he was with the result and that I must, must meet up and give his Morgan a drive as I’ll be smitten

We’ll probably meet up in Southport next week

But

Strangely one thing I never groan about or even think of as being rubbish is the steering on mine. Maybe it’s because it feels better than my previous Morgan or maybe being a relatively fit 57 year old, who plays tennis 3 or 4 times a week, my arms never feels overly worked

It’s not something I’ve ever thought about improving

But have any of you fine Morganistas had this fitted and if so what do think about it?

It doesn’t seem daft money

Last time I talked to Matt at Lifes he was being considered as an agent to fit power steering system. not sure whether hydraulic or electric system. It might be worth having a chat with him, to get his view on the world. I found the Roadster hard work trying to get full lock on whilst reversing into my tight garage opening, usually requiring 3 or 4 realignments to get it back into the garage.

That's interesting. It might well be this one that Matty is doing. We are going to meet up at Lifes so no doubt we will discuss it

I fitted a DCE microsteer generic electric kit two years ago. Very happy with it. I've been able to fit a slightly smaller steering wheel to aid ingress and egress. It does require some fabrication of brackets etc. Good deal at circa £800 in the UK or around 750$ if ordered from the US.

My Dads GDI Plus 4 has the factory power steering fitted, it’s very good and made a massive difference for my Dad who previously had a 2007 Roadster. It does have 16’ wheels as per Roadster so expect it needs it..
