Not good news for MMC and the potential CX export pricing to the US

As usual the Beeb gets some facts wrong, but apparently the Factory has plans...

It could be easy for MMC to manufacture in the US judging from all the custom build programs we see on TV. The Yanks have a decent small volume build capability.

A possibility based on a type of build under license or sub contract.
The detail is the key, though. Exemption for small volume manufacturers? What components would a US builder use? The tariffs would apply to built cars being imported but what about components used to build them? I think tariffs will apply to component imports too.
Bill Fink modified cars for US sales getting round a lot of the regulations so is there scope for that again?
I hope so as the US market would be a significant boost, even at limited numbers.
I could see US engines being used but there are a lot of bespoke parts. Body, chassis, all others. I wonder how different would a US car be to a Malvern built car. How much OE Malvern spec parts could be incorporated into a US assembled car without incurring tariff charges to over price the car?
Colin Chapman started selling Lotus 7 cars as kits that avoided taxes that applied at that time. Maybe modern tax/tariff laws would allow similar.
I would imagine MMC would be looking for every option to mitigate tariffs' effects.

Perhaps thinking along similar lines and from a very dull memory, I remember reading of Morgan three wheelers being built under licence in France in the early days and perhaps identified as Darmont, or Morgan... Perhaps something could be possible in the US, assuming the UK does not feel the need to get into reciprocal tariff tantrums.. ?

Have MMC really been selling 200 cars a year into the USA already?

Introduce tariffs and crash the stock market.
Buy cheap stock.
Remove the tariffs.
Stock market rises.
Make huge profits............🤷🏻‍♂️

Trump and his 'run fast and break things' strategy has got the rest of the world completely shaken up.
Some of his actions might, ironically, end up for the best......
He has totally destabilised the old order of geopolitical norms........
Trumpism will last long after he's gone that's for sure......

I cannot see the orangutang being under a run fast and break things strategy. He looks like he is having trouble just staying awake most of the time. I suspect that the questionable human Musk is the driver under that and most of what is going on. It's so bizarre. Not meant in a rude manner to you Julian.

😁
I'm not sure he does much running..........
It's more his policy of disruption...everything all at once to cause chaos so he/they can profit from the destabilising effect.......
Musk........ he's.........odd......... in a Bond villain/Dr Evil sort of way.
Trump will tire of him and he'll meet with a tragic accident........

I doubt it, maybe that figure is the current order book coupled with previous 3 wheeler sales
