First off, hello from Washington DC--this is my first post to the forum!
I've wanted a Morgan Aero8 for years, and now have the opportunity to purchase.
I've never driven an Aero8, to drive the car in question I will need to take a flight across the US. I have an E90 M3 saloon as a daily drive, so I think I know what I am getting with a BMW engine hooked into a light car; I anticipate a fun ride.
I'd already have made the purchase but...the color. The exterior is a Rolls Royce Blue Ice Pearl, and the interior is Yarwood silver gray leather with blue carpeting. It's a bit flashy for my tastes, but the selection of Aero8s in the US is so limited you kind have to take what you can get.
Is this as unusual a color combination as it seems? Anyone seen this color in person? Any other little problems with a low-milage series II car I should know about?
Finally, here in the US I could get a new SuperSports but it is about $100,000 more than the series II. Is the SuperSports really _that_ much better a car?
Thanks for any and all advice. Happy to talk about the price via PMs.

Hello from USA, although I have not driven an S11 I did sit in one and I have drove an S4, My aim solely was to have an Aeromax, so like you I waited until the time was right. I drive an E90 daily so the Max although a new car in an old skin is a totally different pleasure. Enjoy your S11 but keep saving because when the.SS finally comes your way it will be worth every Dollar. Good luck

Congrats on the car - we look forward to pictures! Sounds like a popular colour combo - my first Aero was Rolls Royce Larkspur Blue (similar to ice blue I think) with navy leather and light wood trim. My second was Alfa Romeo ice blue. I think light metallics suit the shape Supersports is a better car in several ways, but $100k is a lot extra to pay for the same chassis. I'm sure you are going to have a lot if fun in your series II.
-------------- Maxxed out!

Is this the one? From here (scroll down): http://www.coloradomorgan.com/used_cars.htmlI agree, it looks a bit flashy, but the car is not a big car, so it carries "flashy" quite well, imo. Now, a Hummer or a van in that colour: Not so much.

I agree, it looks a bit flashy, but the car is not a big car, so it carries "flashy" quite well, imo. I quite like it, but then I did order my Series II in the first flip paint that Morgan had done; it was Reflex Green. This followed my Series I that was nicknamed 'Kermit' for obvious reasons. With their many compound curves, I think that Aero's carry the more unusual colours, especially the metallics, very well. This car looks like new, as it should with only 550 miles on it. A great choice imho Mateo, enjoy...

Thanks for the information! It's hard to get meaningful viewpoints on Morgans in this area, and by this area I mean America <<sigh>>.
So it's decided, I'm going to buy it, convention be damned. The car has been with a Morgan dealer and service center since new, so I'm not concerned with any mechanical issues. Just the price to consider, hmmm. Anything else I should think about?
As soon as I can get a flight to Denver I'll let everyone know how it turns out! Thanks all- MR

Excellent. Now you've made your decision, just enjoy the wait (tough!) and enjoy the car when you get it. Congratulations and don't forget pics are obligatory
Cheers
