I'm coming back to Morgan ownership and picking up my 1999 4/4 tomorrow.

I have on my shelf two copies of the Morgan Four Owners Workshop Manual OWM796 which was very useful when I had a 1972 model, but not so much for a later one. I wondered whether there is an equivalent manual for later models?

If anybody has need of a copy of OWM796 let me know - I'll happily send you one of mine - I'm keeping one for old times sake.

Regards

Mark

Simple answer is - No!
You can have a look at GoMog, though treat with caution also Morganatica.

Yes Mark, Buy the Dave Wellings book as above, It's a good authoritative book. You are in the right place on this site for help and advice so use that. For some reason the TM search engine is.... well next to useless but a google search will more than likely pull up threads from here. You will soon get to know current dealers and after market experts who are only too willing to help out as well. Best of luck with the new 4/4 and hope you enjoy th new car.... a lot!

The parts lists at https://mogparts.net/parts-guide can be handy if you are trying to identify parts

Mark, most servicing on a trad Morgan is generic excepting regular greasing of front kingpins every 1000 miles or so. For detailed work on engine and transmission, manuals for the donor vehicles would help. I have a copy of the Haynes manual covering the Mustang 3.7 V6 engine and gearbox used on my Roadster for example. Anything else is available here.

Don't bother with Morganatica. It is still listed (https://www.lambdapi.co.uk/morganatica/Main_Page) but seems to have
been abandoned about 5 years ago.

Like gomog there is a really good source of information on technical issues for the traditional owner who is hands on so still current and very useful for a new owner. For instance..

Being wiki it is like our own forum - as good as the contributors.

Yeah, we set Morganatica in response to people saying they wanted to be able to post their own stuff, and you can't do that with GoMog, it all has to go through the moderator. It uses MediaWiki so anyone can contribute directly themselves.

After an initial burst of enthusiasm it turns out that actually people aren't that keen on contributing after all, probably a sign that people don't do as much DIY maintenance as they used to.

There's an awful lot of great stuff on TM these days, if only there was a better search facility or method of indexing to help people find it. It makes much more sense to have everything in one place.
