That 4 seater should be snapped up at that price. It's lovely. Totally agree with this. It looks a bargain. As for a possible location east of the River Exe. Lyme Regis?, Beer? Bud 4/4 - Stanley ps: Welcome to TM

The only 4 seater convertible I (and my dad) owned and liked was a Sunbeam Talbot 90 (?) back in the mid 1960s . He bought it for me for £50 (?) . It was an off white, almost light grey with brightish red ‘leatherette’ upholstery . Surely it wasn’t leather was it? . The back seats were a good 6” higher than the front . It looked ‘Caddish’ with a badge bar on the front. It was lovely and great to drive down the Golden Mile smelling the toffee apples, candy floss, rock, seafood, fish & chips and horse & donkey dung ! Happy days. Unfortunately my dad was one for making a profit on anything and I came home one day and we had made £20 on it . I think a good one now goes for £10 to £15 K perhaps. When everyone else had a Ford Pop or some other black old fashioned car, we had Victors and a salmon pink and cream V Cresta and later a caddy Fleetwood. He bought a Daimler Dart but sold it the same day before driving it My first taste of ‘exotica’ though, was the dad of a uni mate and he had a Gordon Keeble - that was a handsome vehicle and certainly it was no slow turtle…..
Still I have loved the Morgan shape since a teenager and I still love it, there is little to beat it, but no doubt others even on this site might disagree. It gets in the blood and the DNA. Best MM

The Sunbeam Talbot were quite a car in their day, a MKIII version was the outright winner of the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally

Hi Mike and Richard,
Interesting thread that I’ve just come across and I don’t know where you live Mike, but we live in Eton (opposite side of the river to Windsor, Berkshire) and if you want to drive it you’re very welcome! It’s a 1970 Plus 8 - chassis number 300 and was completely rebuilt at the factory from the chassis up. Mostly to original specification, but whilst the wings are the original steel over wire, the wooden frame is all new and all the other panels are aluminium. It was re-trimmed in the original plastic material, I can’t remember what it’s called, as I didn’t want leather which the MMC guys were keen to fit. Luckily they found a roll of the correct material in the trim shop store.
I do warn you now that the clutch is pretty heavy, the original Moss-box works well and the steering is fine as I had power steering fitted. The exhaust was built by the original guy whose firm, that he sold, built the boxes in the day. It looks and sounds just like a 1970 Plus 8 and is a lovely old girl! Getting in and out is not the easiest, as the original short doors don’t give much room for old less flexible limbs.
As regards costs, I bought it off Steve Morris who I know had bought it from Melvyn Rutter - as regards build costs I did start keeping them on a spreadsheet but when costs started rising decided to just proceed and enjoy the experience!! From time to time I feel that I should sell it, but a quick drive means it’s still in the stable…
Cheers Brian
Brian

New M3W owner here...2018 in Dove Grey with the maroon interior. 4,100 miles on the clock. Very excited to own such a unique and crazy-fun vehicle! I'm currently working on fixing up a few items that need some attention. It's nice to work on something that is made of quality materials vs the plastics that everyone else uses.
