The S2 has the default plate on it as I did not think it needed anything to make it more different! The Coupe was gifted a private plate by my wife for my 50th birthday. My initials so personal.
I bought an Audi RS6PE a few years ago. My wife hated it and got me B17 EVL (BIT EVIL) for it. In return I got LE55EVL (Less Evil) for her mini. They looked quite funny on the drive together.
I sold the Audi but moved the plate through my daily drives and still have it on the AMG now where it works given the noise the V8 makes.
w.r.t. to MOG, it does at least remove some of the "what is it?" questions you get as it gives them a clue!
I think a Morgan and especially the Coupe can carry a name type of reg as it has so much character as a car?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I paid £250 from DVLA for AR08NUT which has been on a few cars now.
I've got A580JON on the clubsport think I paid a little bit more for that.

A guy who did his apprenticeship in Scotland starting in 1962 worked on brand new MGB's at a BMC dealer. He moved to Canberra Australia, bought a car to restore and got a job at the Motor registry as a MOT inspector. Working there back in the 1990s he knew when personalised plates were being released, got a form from the office before the public could and filled in one for MGB. He drove his MGB like that for about 20 years until he died. His daughter inherited the car and put it on historic rego, rather than handing the plates in she put them on her other car. Last year she moved to another state so couldn't keep the plates so paid $14 a month to keep the right to the plate. She advertised the car and I noticed the plate so messaged her and asked about it. Long story short I paid her daughter who plays hardball $2500 for the plates (I am sure the lady would have accepted less), $672 to the local government to get them transferred to my ownership and then $224 to get them remade in plastic and standard width. I went for plastic so I could get a different colour and standard width so the holes I already had for the motorbike plate lights lined up with the holes in the car. Overall a good result and the only car with MGB plates on it in my state. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/04/09/Resized_20250211_180954.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/04/09/Resized_20250302_194044.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/04/09/Resized_20250302_194006.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/04/09/Resized_20250302_193138.jpeg)

i prefer MGN to be honest and I got that for my P4. Me too. Plus, when I looked at the DVLA catalogue, MGN was a couple of hundred pounds cheaper than MOG.

Well I drive MOG99 and have no issue with that ,a racing Alfa I had was LUIGI and my 7 is 7TC . In NZ a Morris Minor has always been known as a Morrie thou , incorrectly I know for the early ones -and for my 1100cc Van.

MOG is my preference, though I don't own a plate with that on. IMHO it fits the marque better than anything else, and, though Morgan themselves don't seem to use it, MMC do support the MOG magazine.

There was a Chinese businessman in Sydney by the name of Hor. He had some nice cars with the personalised plates HOR 1, HOR 2, etc. It certainly caught peoples attention when the car was driven by a rather atractive lady (wife, daughter, secretary? I have no idea). I wonder if he still has the plates.

And I bought a MOG registration yesterday, so my vote is definitely now in that camp!

The word "MOG" has taken on a new slang definition amongst the TikTok generation. Try Googling "Mog meaning" to prepare yourself for GenZ comments.
