Vandals. Keep the ICE cars running on petrol. That cable is a trip hazard as well.

That is the coolest car......!!!! Fantastic patina.. I guess if the owner is just wafting round central London it's ideal........waaaaaay better than a Tesla.........!!!!! There was a Bentley resto mod in the US with a massive chevy V8 which I like the look of as well, albeit not quite as eco........... 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Much missed Bill Button formerly of eMog and this forum bought a 50`s Bentley and as best I can remember was non to impressed with it`s engine...!
According to a friend there were loads of Teslas available in car brakers a while back for those in search of bits to electrify classics, though it also seems that that there may be quite a few new folk entering the conversion to EV business, perhaps more so now that the restrictions on entry to cities in the UK and elsewhere seems to be growing...?
Richard you disappoint me in not watching the vid.... I never thought you would perhaps limit your exposure to new ways of thinking...
I suspect I would never have bought an EV unless my good lady thought it might suit her, surprisingly I was amazed to discover how well it suits me as a basic transportation device and acting to some degree to offset my fondness and occasional usage of of the ICE 3.5 & 3.8 Litre vehicles I am fortunate to have access to..Quite how I may be judged in that regard in time... Who knows...?

Richard you disappoint me in not watching the vid.... I never thought you would perhaps limit your exposure to new ways of thinking... ...? I look a little further down the road George than Button and you, both of whom I have a lot of respect for and not disappointment Button was in a league of his own with his skill set and non judgmental attitude, I learnt far more about Plus 8's from him then off gomog as like Arwyn Button has actually done the job themselves, not just collected others data and collated., it is useful reference site for sure.. Button will have seen an opportunity to test his innovative skills, not for the joy of driving around in a Tesla underpinnings I can guarantee you that I have long been looking forward to Hydrogen as a proper solution as opposed to a half arsed solution of an interim nature causing almost as much pollution as ICE when analysed properly over a full life cycle. I was shot down on here for suggesting it was feasible to produce Hydrogen and or manage logistics of end user supply chain about 10 years ago, fortunately other folks shortsightedness and fear of something new has never bothered me throughout my social or working life or on TM on occasion Peace be with you George p.s. Peter Jenks (Tarka) was the only other believer at the time and it is fast growing as a very real solution. p.p.s. Please don't insult me by telling me they require a small battery interface Namaste

Vandals. Keep the ICE cars running on petrol. That cable is a trip hazard as well. It’s the equivalent of pissing on a Constable painting, you destroy their raison d’etre at a stroke - intentional. Both are British works of art and stuffing a Muskovite product in is the act of a savage 🥷 Someone mentioned it wafting along and that is totally inappropriate - that is the exact description when they have a S6 or V8 in a gloriously understated car with fabulous lines

Or just buy an MG Disco coming to the UK later this year supposedly. A bit brutalist for me. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2025/04/23/cyberX.jpg)

Cecil Kimber rotates in his grave. Today's cars may be better than the old cars in many respects, but the loss of aesthetics is simply brutal. This is what a luxurious, beautiful MG looks like: ![[Linked Image]](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/a/a8/MG_SA_1936_-_front.jpg/1920px-MG_SA_1936_-_front.jpg)

Oops, seems I may have unintentionally hit sore spot... Richard, I am not an intentional promoter of EV as the way forward, just an observer of the evolutionary and practical processes involved, and relaying as to the way EV has worked for me to date for others to assess as they might..
It seems James May was quite impressed (other than the price) by the MGB EV recreation he tried out in a YT vid I recently watched
That the ICE has become so complex as the result of all the gizmology introduced in a bid to reduce emissions, and it just seemed that an electric motor with minimal moving parts seem`d to have potential to be more reliable relative to breakdown and less costly to run over the predicted life cycle of the vehicle, and in general, including political decision making around the time of my purchase and time taken in personal evaluation where it seemed that the positives exceeded the negatives in the prevailing circumstances... As for the future, time will tell, and if vehicles end up powered by a Flux Capacitor, or whatever else, I care not a jot.
Bill Button and I often contacted each other OOG in the days of eMog, I remember trying to talk him out of his ideas for an electric handbrake system which he was intent in creating for his +8, my luddite keep it simple tendencies showing through, seems Bill was ahead of the game in that one... (-: I suspect were bill around and as frustrated as he was with his Bentley`s mechanical maladies, he may have converted it to an EV... who knows...? Bill really enjoyed spending time on eMog and discussing all that was kindly provided on GoMoG as did I and so many others, all in a time before emojis where a punctuation mark in the wrong place could totally alter the interpretation of that which was typed and intended...creating unfortunate divisions.. it seems things may not have improved..sigh.
Whatever.... it is what it is... Just glad that I am still allowed to continue to discuss, learn and share much in a friendly way thanks to the creation of TM..

George I don't believe you could upset anyone, certainly not me I have no known weakness other than any of my close friends or family suffering in any way. Everything else is incidental chewing gum of life, I enjoy the banter on here but that is all it is, part of the chewing gum of life. The exception being the friends I have shared fun days with on here and look forward to lots more shared experiences with some shared proper Ale and Cider and good scran, I have become close to a handful that I really care for. I thank Simon for that, he is one of them, as is Brian, Button and Tcherek who is doing well in LA and happy other than the obvious loss of Bill, although we have yet to have a face to face, if you are of similar mind and or shared interests it is not always necessary either. James May is a non event to me... Gary already has one in OZ you may recall. Destroying a thing of beauty is never going to be a good thing and I'm glad we difer in the time honoured fashion, tis the freedom of choice again and that is a healthy sign as any debating Society at Uni or above will endorse. Your mate at gomog will never be forgiven for misquoting Arwyn and Dave W - I still have the email from Lorne and that is where it will stay as I think he is a jealous prima donna. I have the full back story from Simon on this matter. Button had a similar view of Lorne and warned me about his inaccuracies on his site, this is also kept in email. All I will say to you is I am glad you shared his home and hospitality in a previous time as I will not descend into the mire by publishing those emails from either party as some things need be held in confidence. Enjoy a good trip out in the Mog as I just have - life is good enjoy using the petrol up because we are all worth it - Peace be with you Maybe with you being an advocate of the Musk build you need to contact Simon for a handle change 😎 p.s. I am looking forward to seeing John's MG EV at some stage on a visit, he had a real need for an auto and the offer he got for the outgoing model was jaw dropping and they llook nice with good range.
