More details from https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdxgzy8wy72o

Quote
Speaking in the documentary, he described how time seemed to slow down as the car rolled over, and how his quick reactions as a cricketer allowed him to move his head in an attempt to avoid even worse injuries.
"As it started going over, I looked at the ground and I knew, if I get hit here on the side [of the head] then I'll break my neck, or if I get hit on the temple I'm dead. The best chance is to go face down.
"And then I remember hitting [the ground] and my head got hit," he added. "But then I got dragged out, and the car went over, and I went over the back of the car, and then [I got] pulled face down on the runway about 50m underneath the car. And then I hit the grass and then [it] flipped back."

I remember Tiff Needell nearly tipping a 5 speed M3W over when he spun it off the track and it ended travelling backwards. In this state steering needs to be centred otherwise you invite Reliant 3 wheeler configuration instability. Given the even greater stability from the unusually wide track of the Super 3 I can only imagine the crash happened whilst vehicle was travelling backwards. Does anyone know if this was the case thinking

Exactly that - Freddie has been paid for loss of earnings doubtless with a codicil.

The fact the program was cancelled (thank goodness) I hadn't watched it for at least five years, living through 6th form at school once is enough...

The fact Freddie was engaged in at least two extremely good/real Cricket programs about rehabilitating young talented but aimless in most part young lads, all the time drawing on and sharing with them his strengths and weaknesses during his own journey back live on air or as close as they could manage given the sensitive subect.. I couldn't help feeling that the Indian series (I put the link on here way bac on this thread) continuing and cancelling TG was part of Freddie's deal and to me an admission of guilt - me cynical
k
This was a program about real people being open and honest (the Indian one) now I can't stand cricket at all but we watched the whole series together and it was a testament to Freddie's strength of character, intelligence, humility and empathy in equal measure and a series we would strongly recommend watching if you like to learn a bit about humanity in action and thinking beyond what acquisition you think you need next and which colour it will need to be (unless it's a Super Sport englandwave)--- Top Gear with a massive budget and large children running riot it had to end some time as it was shallow beyond belief in that you learnt nothing of value and life is way too short to waste it , the more you learn you realise there is a long journey ahead and you only ever scratch the surface of knowledge in one lifetime tbh

Some (a lot) are happy to watch the clowns destroy cars and other objects are available you can go to Amazon and continue watching more of the same - Enjoy thumbs
Like Morgan's we all have our own requirements and choice is available.

If you really want to smash things up strap yourself into a stock car and go for it - you will require far more than Nomex covering your arse guaranteed, totally my opinion so put on ignore if you like all that stuff.

Freddie is the only person that knows and you will never learn that is my view to bring it back to reality OP and not my drivel.
Time for more therapy the sun is calling me and the Plus 8 out to play sunny

Wonder why the front wheel came off?

Quote
The documentary also reveals the full details of the crash for the first time. Flintoff was driving a three-wheeled car around the Top Gear race track when one of the front wheels came off.

Flintoff says he wasn’t going particularly fast – 40 to 45 miles per hour, he estimates – so he wasn’t wearing a helmet. It was a potentially fatal scenario, but when the car began to roll, his cricketing reflexes kicked in.
Per https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2025/04/24/flintoff-part-of-me-wishes-i-had-died-in-crash/

I thought the quote was something like "the wheel came off the ground" if so, not actually that rare in a MTW to lift one front, the driver just needs the talent to handle it

We seem to be stuck with this cult of 'celebrity' which is mainly inhabited by talentless and vacuous knuckle draggers.
These 'celebrities' seem desperate to shamelessly prostitute any aspect of their own or their family's personal or private lives, any medical issue, or surgical procedure whether cosmetic or otherwise.
There seem to be no depths to which 'celebrities' will sink in their to satisfy their craving to stay in the public eye.......

I would like to have thought that FF was above the world of 'celebrity'...... but perhaps not....🤷🏻‍♂️
