And after that ? I'm not saying you are wrong, but once the first 200 aspirational wealthy punters are supplied ???. Contrary to some other views, I reckon that (maybe new-to-Morgan) buyers will want an affordable Morgan experience, and the now "cheapo" Trads will do well.
I completely agree with you on the subject of Plus Fours, I am sure that many buyers will find them a more affordable solution than trying to justify £120k on a Supersport, however desirable it may be. I've yet to drive one, but I don't doubt that they are an enormous leap forward in terms of comfort, handling, and sheer usability than my old trad.
I was really just reflecting on the improbability of being able to obtain a discount on a new Supersport. If I were MMC I would be very resistant, not only because of the attack on my margins, but also because it carries a very poor message to the marketplace, and there are much more affordable alternatives available anyway in the shape of the Plus Four or the Super Three if the potential buyer can't justify the full cost of the Supersport.
I've always had a bit of difficulty with the idea of trying to haggle over prices when buying anything new because in my mind it says "I want to buy one of your products, but I don't want to pay full price for it because I'm special and you ought to suffer a bit in order to get me as a customer. Anyway, I can't really afford it as otherwise I wouldn't care how much I paid. And to be honest I think you're trying to rip me off by making me pay more than I should."
