Maybe someone will use it... the screw should be an M5x45. A length of 40 is too short and the thread does not grip. 50 is too long and the screw stands up

Clemens get the junior hacksaw out chop a bit off and file out to finish it off with ? I have set of metric taps and dies to clear the thread after filing π you would reel o to borrow or post screws over here with the chop dimension etwas 5mm ?

Just run a nut on below the cut point and unscrew it to recover the thread after cutting

Richard / John I think I expressed myself incorrectly. It's probably my English again. But thank you very much for your help. I had my PlusFour at my dealer just before winter. A few minor things were done under warranty. During this work, the Morgenpark center console also had to be removed. The Morgan was brought back to me by the dealer on a trailer and then went straight into the winter garage. When I took the PlusFour out of the garage again two weeks ago, I noticed that the Morganpark center console was loose. It is screwed to the handbrake frame with an M5 screw. I tried to tighten this screw again ... without success. I thought the thread of the nut was under the frame. It took me quite a while to realize that it wasn't the thread that was broken, but that the dealer had used an M5x40 bolt and it was too short. The simplest things take the longest to find. The M5x40 has just gripped in the first thread and the nut under the frame bounces. So you have the feeling that the thread is defective. I tested an M5x50 and it was too long. M5x45 fits perfectly. Here are two pictures for a better understanding ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/04/25/IMG_7148.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/04/25/IMG_7142.jpg)

Hi Clemens, it sounds like you have already fixed the issue. If the Plus Four is the same as the Plus Six then in the standard setup the 4 screws that hold the aluminium handbrake trim in place ( and the rear of the centre wood section ) are two different lengths. The screws that are toward the front and to the rear are longer as they go through the aluminium trim then the wood and then screw in place into the lower chassis alloy, this holds the centre wood section firmly at the rear.. The screws on the passenger and driver sides are slightly shorter, as they just hold the aluminium trim to the wood. I noticed this when I changed the gear lever, I think I may have mentioned this in the write up. Not sure if MorganPark used the standard screws and maybe mixed up the lengths/positions, or they fitted their own to hold the new holdall. Anyway, just a thought.... Dave

Hi Dave, thanks for your comments. Yes the top and bottom bolts in the handbrake frame are longer. The ones on the driver's and passenger's side are shorter. This is the same for the PlusFour. But I bought the center console from Morganpark in Hamburg. Morganpark supplies a longer screw to fix this center console. I think my dealer here in southern Germany simply used a screw that was too short and not the one Morganpark supplied when they dismantled and refitted the console I had fitted. The general problem is with the clip ( German word Federmutter ). It springs very slightly when the screw is tightened. If it is then only tightened with one thread, you get the feeling that the thread is broken. Difficult for me to explain properly in English. However, the problem with the 45mm screw has now been solved. I was just stupid enough to take a long time to find the error, which is actually quite simple. Here is a picture of the "Federmutter =spring nut?" from a catalog which can be seen quite clearly in the second picture above. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/04/25/Klemmschraube-M5-2.md.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2025/04/25/Klemmschraube-M5.md.jpg)

Hi Clemens, yes, the clip nut setup is exactly the same on the Plus Six..As you say it feels a bit weird when trying to screw into it due to the spring effect of the clip, but once the threads have started its fine.. Glad you have sorted it..
