If it hasn't sold, is it perhaps because Life's have a couple of new 4/4 sports in stock at just £2k more, so the price may seem a little high to prospective purchasers?
It's a nice looking car (very much like mine) and with a Librands exhaust would be more responsive...

Yes, Z3s on M-Sport are rather harsh - and still a bit loose at the rear... Mine was just on the standard, soft, definitely only a 'tourer' with that set up...

Nigel The price wasn't set by me and is higher than I paid for it but, I guess, they'll need room to haggle and take a margin on it.

Can I have a bit of advice on this please?
She is still for sale at Lifes for £30,950 and clearly I would get a good bit less on any sale.
She has been there a few months now and I'm really not sure what to do.
At the advertised price, there has been little interest and I suspect that buyers are buying the stock cars rather than those there on SOR, which I can fully understand.
Now, should I leave it there and hope for a buyer or do I pull the car back and use it, whilst offering it for sale at a lesser price?
I suppose that what I am asking is, would you prefer to pay more for a car through a dealer, or less and buy privately?

I sold my +4 through a specialist garage/workshop. But I was expecting to be away quite a lot at the time, which would make it difficult to allow proper viewings etc. I am happy enough to buy Morgans (and Land Rovers) privately - because I know what I'm looking for. That does not extend to a lot of other marques. If you are not bothered about tyre kickers and the possibility of people potentially casing your property for nefarious purposes then sell privately. I don't think you'll get many of those while advertising a Morgan (apart form the African etc. scammers if you advertise on line ). AND - you get to use your car in the meantime... Cheers,
Graham (G4FUJ)

Hello Dave, I'm probably putting my head on the block here but - c'est la vie n all that malarky. For what it's worth I've been scouring dealer and private ads for best part of a year now for either older +4 or more recent 1.8 4/4. I did see your first post regarding the sale of your car and I do think it looks great but I'm afraid it's too new/good for my humble pocket. Looking at prices currently there seems to me little difference between private and dealer. I get the impression people look at dealer prices and try for the same even tho there is no backup then in the deal for the buyer. From the photos you'r car looks quite a high spec and it's low mileage so they're probably not too far away, if you dropped it 1k it would bring it under the 30k threshold which might bring it in to more peoples searches. It's a shame my piggy bank's not bigger! Good luck with the sale.

I've always bought privately, but taken someone else with me where possible who could be a bit more objective.
All were identified through Miscellany, and although I had looked at dealers but couldn't find what I wanted, I was actually happier to buy privately and save a bit of money. In each case, the sellers were genuine 'men of their word'.
I don't expect to buy another, but if I were to do so I wouldn't have any problem buying out of Miscellany.

snip Now, should I leave it there and hope for a buyer or do I pull the car back and use it, whilst offering it for sale at a lesser price? snip Pull the car back and use it - after all spring is coming. Have some fun, have some fun, use it to take the kids to sport etc. Don't even ask if she wants to come but after a little while tell her you are finding the ride just a tad harsh that you have heard major improvements can be made to the ride(good shocks and maybe some work on the springs. Who knows she just might decide to find out more about the "mistress" that seems to be getting so much of your attention. If that doesn't work keep the car and sell the wife!

In my experience these commission type sales don't tend to often work very well. The dealer will always push his own stock first, I tried it a few times with classsic cars.

in my experience SOR cars never sell unless the Dealer hasn't got another piece of stock and i am certainly not saying this would happen in your case, but i have even found bits had been swopped on my car, for the worse !!
