Alistair, perhaps worth trying your Crystal in an auction...?

In terms of my thinking on the value of much being perhaps "an age thing" I suspect that relates to standard evolutionary processes of not only the evaluation sellers might have accrued over the years that do not match the either the range of possible buyers, if any.. ?

I guess that perhaps the process of auctions car or otherwise, may provide a real insight to any real world alteration or otherwise in value.

Sorry OZ not BAT but a car auction none the less and there is at least one Morgan listed...A Sign of the times...?

EDIT From this vid, it seems a LWB Transit van could have worked out as a better vehicular investment that many a classic sports car..? It seems we do indeed live in interesting times..

I'm reminded of the Art market where having the right patron gets you featured in the glossy mags and talked about in the right circles ... and, strangely, your Art gets bought and the price spirals ... intangibles are prone to being 'talked-up'...... and 'talked-down'

In the same way as Trumpian pronouncements have allowed the savvy to exploit the seesaw market ... Maybe Geoff wants some proper classics that he can't afford 😆 .... with the interwebby giving a platform to more voices (including those who would never pass muster in a print journal) ... the markets for luxury, lifestyle goods are vulnerable.

My ears ever pricked up at the sound of some Fiats, and the idea of their twin cam engines ever interested me, however given my Lotus leanings and their Ford twin cam units, as a possible alternative to a +8, the idea of a 4`4 with a Lotus Twink, was thought of as a possible ideal Morgan for me, and I suspect far simpler to maintain in the UK too.. I have not researched the Fiat twin cam and it`s possible issues relative to those associated with the Ford Twink though the many images that have been posted of JHS` BDA (?) engined 4/4 special ever impressed me greatly..

Problem was that in general in my part of the world Fiats corroded almost as fast as they accelerated.... but back then Brit cars were not all that far behind them... in both counts... Pity.
