My Series 1 auto cancel does not appear to be working, I assume it's a switch around the column.. has anyone had any experience of this?
Thanks.

I have ZERO experience of a Series One
In General and dependant on age, there can be a clip on the steering column with a protrusion that activates a cancelling mechanism built into the indicator switch, thus the location of the mounting of the switch relative to the protrusion on the clip for normal operation is reasonably critical... The clip is held by the grip which it has on the column but can be adjusted around the column.
I suspect later Morgans may have a different means of cancelling indicator action..? If any air bag is fitted, there is potential DANGER in messing around in this area.
To monitor the operation of the system as described in older Morgans, the steering wheel is best removed (taking note of the straight ahead position of the wheel to column interface) at which stage hopefully the mechanical action may become obvious when the steering is activated using the steering wheel retaining nut, and with the front wheels off the deck to minimise the force required to rotate the column. Or if assistance is available have someone grip the road wheel and act in a way that causes the steering column to rotate left to right... .
Hope I have not muddied the water..

Well you don't mention disabling the airbag on the wheel in advance which is definitely one to watch for! (just teasing)
My S2 has self-cancelling as well as the screech/bleep if left on.

I haven't driven my S1 for a couple of months but i'm not sure it has auto cancelling indicators....
It does have a buzzer for when i've left the indicators on for more than about 20 seconds.

Oops, my bad, I will now delete myself. shouldn't you 'self cancel' Thankfully this is a cancel culture free zone, so Alistair is safe! ...oh no, does this make us a 'safe space' where we need trigger warnings on all posts? Just treat indicators with kindness! PS - The last version I have is for the S2/S3 (which tended to have the airbag wheel), which may not apply; however, page 25 of the Aero 8 manual states: "7.3 Hand Controls and Switches 7 - Lights and Indicators The lights and indicators are operated from the left hand stalk behind the steering wheel. To indicate left push the stalk in a downward direction, to indicate right lift the stalk in an upward direction. The indicators are self- cancelling."

Thanks all, I am pretty certain the S1 should have self cancelling - 99% sure my last one had it, or at least I was until I read the responses here!
I guess will have to take a look and try to figure it out.
