With such a potentially dangerous situation, maybe this shoukd provoke a general recall or at least a memo out to all to get it . checked out asap.
What with JohnV6 experience as well, someone at the factory ain't doing their job properly!

The update so far is there was a very loud clunk as I reversed it off the trailer at the factory.Mark came to have look only to find the steering rack was completely loose he had never seen this before and had I driven any further it could have been quite catastrophic. Left the car up there its in good hands and I really trust Mark. I must admit it was quite a sobering thought what might have happened. Em

Thanks for sharing aerotaff, I knew that trads due to their minimal suspension travel require regular nut and bolt checks but thought more modern Morgans had more compliant suspension, thus unlikely to require similar checks....BUT..?

Fortunately should be a simple fix and one that any mechanic could have detected and resolved in short order. We live and learn.. Enjoy your drive home. drive

I will give you chapter and verse after i pick it up it will have to have a 4 wheel alignment. Their also going to connect the box of tricks for any upgrades, and check the dreaded rad. I just hope the rack is not bent or damaged.

Whilst its been amazingly inconvenient to get it back to the factory, I think its the right place for it to be. It could well be that as a result of their findings, any issues found. might require inspections to be increased eg the manufacturing check list or the PDI list of checks. before delivery or increase the regular annual/periodic service inspection of this area. to address any issues or check of components /specifications used..
