I modified my original mirror on our 1990 plus 4 passenger side door which was completely useless, by simply making a hardwood wedge the shape of the base which was thicker at the front thus moving the mirror head position inwards. Finally painting the wood to match the door. I needed to purchase a longer oval head woodscrew for the front. This worked well for many years until I decided to fit Librand's stainless bases retaining the round head mirrors I fitted from a Honda van. I retained the wood wedge although the new bases are slightly different in shape so I intend to make a new wedge. How anyone can drive on the continent with the standard mirror set up is taking a huge chance which was the main reason for fixing the mirror. One thing I did find with the new bases is that is that to adjust the arm position you must wedge the arm from the base following the instructions included to obtain the position you want, you cannot just click the arm around as with the original ones.

Librands mirror base. On the ones supplied to adjust the stem arm position needs to be wedged apart by 1.5 mm to lift the pins from the locating holes so to enable the arm to be located in the position required. A printed note came with the bases how to do this. The mirror stem into the arm has a slotted screw bolt to position the mirror stem/ head. Over the many years of ownership and 182,000 miles I have replaces many parts with stainless steel with no regrets and the Librand bases are excellent quality. I have now added two 1.5 mm hard plastic 2 off 8mm strips to my ever growing carry in the car tools just in case.

Just look on the WEB for stainless motorcycle round head mirrors try ones that have a long straight stem of 10mm in diameter. Cut the stem near to the bend. Retain your original base and arm unit and remove the mirror stem and retain the plastic internal spacers and use them on your new mirror stems. If however your passenger door mirror fails to give you the view your require you can as I did make a wood tapered wedge to give you good rear view and one perfected pain it to match the car. Good luck.

I purchased a pair of round mirrors with bases from Melvyn Rutter to replace the rectangular chrome mirrors and bases that were badly pitted on my 2013 4/4 two seater. After trying various positions I found the settings shown in the photos work perfectly. The only issue is you need to move the wind deflectors when you open the doors. I don’t have a problem with that.

Could be worse, you might have bought some of these hideous "leaf" mirrors like on the Pagani Imola sick2

I think I could live with those mirrors, if they in time came to be too offensive I would have them removed as who needs to see what's behind you in a Pagani.
